Connolly is certainly making the headlines since her release, claims to have been a political prisoner, people are making her out to be a hero, suggestions she will be meeting with representatives of Trump.

From what I've seen it's all about how hard done by she was and doesn't seem to acknowledge or show remorse for what she said. I find it disgusting that she is getting this much coverage.

From what I've seen it's all about how hard done by she was and doesn't seem to acknowledge or show remorse for what she said. I find it disgusting that she is getting this much coverage.

One thing that not all here will be aware of is the massive coverage her and the circumstances surrounding her are getting on ‘alternative news media’ (I deliberately am not calling it social media in this instance). My interests on various platforms revolve around sport, music and vintage cars but despite that, between all that the ‘feeds’ are swamped with Lucy Connolly, the injustices arising from similar transgressions, the country-wide protests and the various mass-demonstrations in progress (eg ‘flags’) or being planned.

People seem more comfortable being openly racist, I've got family members and friends who are and seem to discuss and make comments like it's normal.

I choose not to get involved in conversation now, it's not worth my time.

I believe it’s always worth your time, Sith. If it wasn’t for sensible and decent people standing their ground a certain section of society would still be out and about ‘P***’ bashing and chucking bananas at black footballers.

I can accept that there’s an argument I need to understand about limitations on immigration. I will never accept any argument in favour of racism. To me it’s just bullying and on my list of certain things - along with child abuse, wife battering, driving while drunk - that are always unacceptable

I'm not difficult to prevent this happening. The government has to listen and do something tangible about a growing grievance that will only continue to grow, notably among it's own traditional supporters.

As I mentioned else thread I'm having a load of work done on the house at the moment - up to 6 members of building trade around the house. Every one massively supportive of stop the boats, every one a Starmer voter last time out. No longer do unless something happens.

It's perhaps more likely that these attitudes prevail in front line areas of the "war on boats" in the southeast, but even so the trends are clear. It's all too easy for those distanced from the problem to think compassionately about the illegals.

I see the planned Waterloo rally for 13-09 (hopefully peaceful too but I fear not: if Im Swaleish for a moment it will likely be infiltrated by left wing agitators who will ensure it isnt), is being stymied by a surprise rash of suddenly planned engineering works on railways across the country .
