  • I think he meant Azerbaijan as both have an A in them. He must have been successful as the Grand Prix went ahead today without warlike intervention. Thanks to the Donald

      • Also claimed to have stopped the India/Pakistan war. Both countries have said "oh no you didn't".

Hardly surprising when you remember that, about 10 years ago, the FFF introduced the term "alternative facts" to the world. A total misnomer, of course, as they weren't facts. Just a collection of words that fit his narrative. Many view his alt facts to, actually, be lies.

          • I'm starting to think whoever is sending Trump out to make these speeches is pissing themselves laughing.

Maybe they put bets on to see who get can him to talk the most *******s.

Mm and I'm still waiting for you to cite actual evidence of where Khan has failed as Mayor of London!

Its telling that both you and AF like to carp about plagiarism, cut and paste (even when all I did was post some statistics from a reputable source FFS!) rather than actually rebut the facts posted.

Mind you when AF states that by paying the BBC Licence fee, one is supporting the excessive monetisation of the PL, despite the FACT, that it was and is the revenue from SKY and other platforms that does this AND was the very reason the PL was formed I guess sometimes on here facts are a whatever the person posting chooses to think they are. Ho Hum.

Both reasonable questions of someone who introduces those points, but of course there?s been no answer, just a little bit of rudeness including accusing me, ridiculously, of ?doing down my own? Factual logic does appear to be disappearing, only to be replaced by nastiness from the man who only yesterday claimed to set such high value on the virtue of politeness.

Close to giving up on the basis that it?s hopeless trying to argue with those who deliberately misquote and misrepresent views they are apparently unable to sensibly and honestly debate over.
On the other hand we do need to quote a poster on here, to ensure that not only "blinkered" views are posted on here!!

                • I see Farage is spewing out rhetoric, that is not only obviously unworkable, but also quoting financial sums, which the actual source has confirmed are wrong. Quelle surprise! I guess the blinkered sheeples will lap it up regardless!

                  • Do your own research, I'm not your assistant!!

I mentioned Khan was a cause of grief by Unite the Kingdom marchers in response to a question (by MA I think) about what the guys I knew who went to the protests were primarily concerned with. I asked them, and Andy had already noted several probabilities, so I added a couple more - woke and Khan - that had been mentioned to me.

I didn't ask in the level of detail you seem to want - I didnt expect the Spanish Inquisition, noone does - but if I had to guess I'd say ULEZ would be one major source of grievance. That seems to be something that stirs passionate responses in some quarters in the form of destroying the cameras. not in me I would add as a greenish non driver. (In case you dont know, ULEZ is predominantly a London thing - and a few more places operating CAZ's such as Birmingham, Sheffield etc - where vehicles that are not compliant with emissions levels have to pay a surcharge for entering the "zone")

If you want to know more I recommend a form of generative AI of your choice, but regardless you wouldnt believe the facts if the didnt align to your own alt-facts which underpin your own narrative, so Im not wasting time on your issues regarding something that impacts me only fractionally more than it impacts you simply based on proximity.

Sorry GP, but that is a quite laughable response. You and AF alike throw in these claims time and time again and then run off chuckling, ?that?s put a spanner in the works?.

You, and only you, cited Khan as a likely unifying factor amongst the Unite the Kingdom participants. Likewise AF chucks in some half baked notion about an anonymous area of Derby representing what he means by ?we want our country back?, but when asked to qualify/substantiate your contributions you both duck out, quite unable to do so and, in your case, babbling on about a Monty Python joke from fifty odd years ago.

I admit I know little about Khan - Swale seems to know more - but I know plenty about various areas of Derby. So instead of running away, why not back up your suggestions. You may be right or you and AF might just be spouting those ?alternative facts? ie?more falsehoods.

                        • Trump claiming London WANTS to go Sharia. Eejit. Also now saying that Ukraine, the same Ukraine that had no cards a few months back and "shouldn't have started the war" according to him and Vance, could now regain it's "lost" territory.

I was about to write "you couldn't make it up" but, alarmingly, he does, continually.

I won’t speak for GP because unlike Swale and yourself we don’t cover for each other, but I suspect he’s adopted the same approach as I, and that’s to state an opinion/view that I believe to be fact, after research/experience, and let those with an open mind come back and reinforce the opinion or rebutt it with fact-based arguments. As GP said, do your own research. NB those with an open mind not dogma-dominated…

Remember when him and his supporters, including certain posts on here, were laughing and celebrating Biden obvious problems, yet the stuff Trump comes out with is worse.

He's a genuinely dangerous man right now, probably the most dangerous leader since Hitler and that includes Putin.

Lol…you don’t cover for each other! Really? That’ll be why you used your moderator’s ‘power’ to correct GP’s spelling only the other day so that his post made some sort of sense.
Never, ever seen you do that before with any other forum member.

Why and how is it ‘dogma dominated’ to ask for clarification of a point made. You’ve asked me - and others - often enough and a response has always been forthcoming. We may disagree with each other but it is never blinkered to seek clarification.
It is however, imo, mightily suspicious to try and make a point and then run away when asked to back it up with evidence.
