Has this been reported on the UK News? Reports here that Israel is utilising drones to attack IRGC bases, taking out RG and the Militia. So much to the effect that the ones who go out to shoot protestors are now being killed off, so uch so that they are taking to seeking refuge under bridges to avoid the drone attacks.

Not particularly accurate statement. The island is basically there to load Iranian oil as s it's a deep water load port. Evidently the oil handling structure is still intact and was not targeted - yet.Originally posted by ramAnag View PostHaving destroyed Kharg Island

The Chinese would be very unhappy if that happened

Not to date RP, I can find a source "Iran Insight" on tinternet which is making these claims based on sources within Iran, but have no idea how accurate or true the information is.Originally posted by Ram Pant View PostHas this been reported on the UK News? Well, okay, Trump claims to have ‘totally decimated’ everything there except the oil infrastructure, but if you’d rather reserve your pedantry for me than comment on the U.S. President suggesting they bomb things ‘for fun’ that’s up to you.Originally posted by Geoff Parkstone View PostNot particularly accurate statement. All a bit Dr. Strangelove for me and I’d imagine the Chinese are already more than a little pissed off.

Which points one to the thought that, as with Venezuela, this ws always about oil.Originally posted by ramAnag View PostWell, okay, Trump claims to have ‘totally decimated’ everything there except the oil infrastructure, but if you’d rather reserve your pedantry for me than comment on the U.S. President suggesting they bomb things ‘for fun’ that’s up to you.

Indeed it does, but it also heightens awareness of Trump’s total hypocrisy. When his first ‘regime’ was changed, via legitimate electoral defeat by Biden, he threw all his toys out of the pram, but elsewhere, in Venezuela, Iran and Cuba the regime changes he wants, via military intervention or blockades, are all perfectly legitimate according to orange Jabba’s ‘logic’.Originally posted by Ram Pant View PostWhich points one to the thought that, as with Venezuela, this ws always about oil.Last edited by ramAnag; 16-03-2026, 07:57 AM.

Well Im glad RP had the common sense to understand my point. Its about the oil security being paramount. Im looking at the economic impact of the war on the wider economy and hence everyone else being impacted, rather than focussing on winning petty points of an American president who I susect is not too concerned about whether you like hi or not. Still if it makes you feel good, go for it - we clearly have two different priorities when looking at this war. Mine is looking at what the impact could be on the global community, yours is point scoring off the POTUS. No problems we plough our own furrows.Originally posted by ramAnag View PostWell, okay, Trump claims to have ‘totally decimated’ everything there except the oil infrastructure, but if you’d rather reserve your pedantry for me than comment on the U.S. President suggesting they bomb things ‘for fun’ that’s up to you.

To be accurate, GP, the point about oil was made by MARP long before you (in post 6055) and no one has disagreed.Originally posted by Geoff Parkstone View PostWell Im glad RP had the common sense to understand my point. My point, which you sought to dismiss, was about someone of the global importance of a POTUS describing the likelihood of continuing the bombing of something he’d already described as - oil structures apart - ‘totally decimated’, just ‘for fun’.
I cannot remember a time when a world leader has used such words. I’m sure they’re aimed to appease the hawks and MEGA supporters back home, but personally I find that sort of language very frightening. It’s hardly a ‘petty point’, or a case of ‘making me feel good’, to draw attention to a POTUS behaving like a warmongering, psychopathic megalomaniac and if you think it is I’d suggest you’re the one ploughing a lone furrow.Last edited by ramAnag; 16-03-2026, 12:43 PM.

On this day in 1941 Old Trafford was bombed meaning that United could not play there again until four years after the end of WWII.
Just imagine. Largely caused by worldwide economic issues and the actions of a crazed, narcissistic, fascist megalomaniac and his supporters.
We can’t allow a repeat can we? This time driven by a MAGAlomaniac.Last edited by ramAnag; 16-03-2026, 01:37 PM.

OK so try looking back to (eg) post 5951 about 10 days ago if you want to consider the oil related posts.... but it not really a game of "who thought of it first" is it? Anyway you carry on believing what you will: it honestly doesnt matter.Originally posted by ramAnag View PostTo be accurate, GP, the point about oil was made by MARP long before you (in post 6055) and no one has disagreed.

Did you really type that tripe or has AI invaded your laptop? Do you really think the worst thing to have happened in WW2 was the bombing of a football ground? I think the tens of millions of people killed might disagree. I can scarcely imagine how terrible it must have been to have had to play ones home football matches at a different ground - that Hitler was such a cad. Did you also notice during that confliect that tens of millions were killed? have you made the connection between the annigilation of the jews to such an extent they needed to be given a homeland and oh, thats gone well hasnt it and is to a large extent the reason why what is happening today is happening today. But **** that, a football team had to play home games somewhere else....I cannot imagine the global anxiety, disruption and utter chaos that createdOriginally posted by ramAnag View PostOn this day in 1941 Old Trafford was bombed meaning that United could not play there again until four years after the end of WWII.

More to do with Israel wanting to strike and reduce Iran to the chaos that Gaza and Syria are in, which they seem to be doing and to be attempting in Lebanon and Trump not wanting to be left out.Originally posted by Ram Pant View PostWhich points one to the thought that, as with Venezuela, this ws always about oil.
There is certainly no discernable strtegy or end game here, presumably Trump thought once he'd killed the supreme leader then the regine would fall. Such blinkered thinking either points to a lack of understanding of the nature of the Iranian regime, or that Trump didn't listen to that opinion.
Given that even amongst the US administration there are varying explanantions as to what the aim is, the latter seems likely.
Now Trump resorts to his usual bullying tactic, come and help me clear up the mess I've made or NATO will suffer. To which the answer from all countries should be "**** off and sort out your own mess".
