  • Seems TR has also launched a page for people to contribute to his defence. He did that last time he was in court and then plead guilty. Surely, he could use that money to fund his defence if he's intending pleading differently this time round?

I posted this on a social medium platform earlier today. Most reactions were "that money's already gone... up his nose".

If you mean call anyone to the right of them 'far right' then I'd agree. "Far right" no longer means anything to me. My son who voted labour under Corbyn is now far right by it's contemporary definition. As an expression it's just become a throwaway insult at best or a purely lazy assessment of someone else's viewpoint.
What utter *******s, it is really not hard to work out what "far right" means, whats happend is that people including it seems you and indeed AF, now find acceptable an ideology that is closely aligned to that of the Nazi's.

Of course you'll say as people did about the Nazi's, well there are elements that are distasteful and we don't support certain things, but we are broadly aligned on matters such as immigration, Diversity and equality and so and so forth. Of course we don't think Farage calling for rage is appropriate, but you know he has a point.

Like all such issues, there are some aspects of fact or truth in some of the things these dangerous idiots are saying, but it's warped by clear misinformation, clear lies and rabble rousing and false statements which can easily be shown to be untrue.

We are in dangerous times IF, and I use the word IF as a caveat, becuase I'm not entirely sure you in particular aren't just being provocative. But if people like yourself, who I had assumed were cpable of rational thought, make statements that "far right" is a throwaway insult at best or a lazy assessment of soneone elses view point" that surely demonstrates either an unwillingness or an inability to distinguish what is an opinion or ideology that might some including me might not be comfortable with and one which is clearly unacceptable in a civilised society?

      • These are people who recognise a fascist when they see and hear one. They aren't "left" or "right" just citizens who deplore this appalling politics.

When news came that the US defence secretary, Pete Hegseth, would be travelling to Normandy to mark D-day, some in the seaside village of Langrune-sur-Mer – where the afternoon ceremony was slated to be held – felt they had to speak up.

“We found it unbelievable that they could send someone who held views and values contrary to democracy, human rights, peace and Europe,” said resident Chantal Richard. To her, the incongruence felt deeply personal. “We grew up going to D-day ceremonies, some of us had grandparents or parents whose lives were affected by this war.”

        • Isee the Mail on Sunday has gone full fascists, trying to claim Reform are "more resonable" than Reform.

Mind you it and its sister paper the daily fail have history, given they supported Moseleys Blackshirts in the 1930's!!

I guess some on here are comfortable with that though, from their posts.

I believe his estimated worth to be between 1-2 million GBP. He also spent time last week with Musk Snr. in Moscow. Hardly a case for ‘crowdfunding’ then.

A grifters got to grift though and it pains me that some of my tax money will be recycled by those on benefits daft enough to give money to this ****!

That observation is based on the number of those arrested who in addition to having been known to the police by reason of domestic abuse, assualt, GBH, petty theft, burglary etc. are also unemployed and on benefits. Not all of course, just to reassure AF that I'm not maligning all of the thugs and ****s that enagage in street violence.

I think he's merely made a typo and one of those "Reform"s was meant to have been Restore. Hopefully, the second one.

                  • If not the second one then probably the second one.

                      I'll second that.

Seeing rumours/articles today saying the US/Iran peace deal either has been signed or will be today. I'll believe it when it's signed, sealed, delivered and 90% of the content has been carried out. It appears to be a tentative deal with a 60 day cease fire and the reopening of Hormuz. In the 60 days they will discuss the rest of the issues like the nuclear one, tolls or not in Hormuz, Sanctions lifting etc... still a long way to go.

In other news, reports of Israel sayig they reserve the right to carry on fighting Iran on their own...

It's a mess and there seems to be no total solution.

                      • There hasn't been a solution during my lifetime and I doubt there will be until all the oil has run out. At this point it will transform into a purely religious battlefield

It’s me buying oil that did it, MA. Said to ‘she who must be obeyed - occasionally’ that the war would stop as soon as we ordered some oil. Had 800 litres, at 77ppl (ouch!) delivered today! Driver said loads of people had cancelled their orders this morning but he didn’t know why, ‘not as if everything is suddenly going to revert to normal’ were his thoughts.
Anyway, that’s Trump + about 120 quid v rA 120 quid down on last year’s summer prices.
