Latest rumours is that we are after Joe Egan (although I thought he had died last year, Stealers Wheel if any one wonders). a full back 32 from Hull.
I hope not, because he only played 28 games over last 3 years due to injury and I'd be with RA on this, we don't need another older injury prone player. Its probably just internet talk in any case.

Salvesen, Brown, Morris, Agyemang, Weimann. All can play the central role. Then we've got young Wheeldon who might stake a claim in pre season and further. There's Charles Ebuka Agbawodikeizu as well who was on the bench a couple of times last season... Why would we go for Windass?Originally posted by ramAnag View PostLinks with Josh Windass seem to be firming up. 44 Championship appearances and 13 goals last season means it makes sense but, as ever, competition apparently from the usual suspects…Wrexham, Norwich and Coventry.
Wednesday have also let Michael Smith go. MKD bound?
DT also linking us with Blackburn right back Callum Brittain. Do we need a 3rd right back?Last edited by MadAmster; 18-07-2025, 10:07 AM.

A RB who can stay fit would be a bonus MA! I take it your 3 are Wilson, Nyambe and Ward? (I know Rooney can play there but is a CB really). Ward is more an attacking wide player from what little we have seen of him.Originally posted by MadAmster View PostSalvesen, Brown, Morris, Agyemang, Weimann. All can play the central role. Nyambe and Wilson, good when fit, but often not fit. Anyway word on the street is that Boro are in pole position and thats his favoured destination, Blackburn not happy with Boro's offer, Brittain wants to go. So doubt he will be heading our way.
Windass? Haven't heard anything to say thats likely, Eustace wants a midfielder and cover at LB, plus a couple of creative attacking wide players, no use having strikers if they get no service.

Ward is a liability at RB imo. His strength is his crossing but defensively…please God…no!Originally posted by swaledale View PostA RB who can stay fit would be a bonus MA! Think MA only mentioned us having two and I agree with you, Nyambe and Wilson are good, but injury prone.
Suspect you’re right that Brittain might be heading to Boro’, but Windass is versatile enough to play the role of attacking midfielder as well as providing cover up front isn’t he?

Indeed you are right, he said do we need a 3rd RB? Windass could be useful, not saying he wouldn't, he would be a "free" though wages and agents fee, signing on bonus etc. come into play, just that I'd heard no indication we were interested and Eustace had other priorities, doesn't mean of course that he won't surface here, but we do need a younger more creative attacking wide player, even if CBT does manage to stay fit and perform this season.Originally posted by ramAnag View PostWard is a liability at RB imo. As always suspect a player will be signed that hasn't been mentioned.
