I think the issue with JN goes way further back than SP's time.

My view was that John Nelms was wholly responsible for the appointment of Elvis. He also made clear that there was a new strategy for really trying to improve players, and at the time I was very sceptical about this idea, which was very firmly nailed on John Nelms, by me and others.Originally posted by Returnofrros View PostIt wouldn't change anything re Nelms but it would signal a change in direction from D4L.
If there has been no change of direction then I agree a complete waste of time other than highlight that the D4l committee have no intention of holding Nelms to account at all.
BCram imho rather simplifies the matter by making it about Elvis.....it isn't....the unrest with Nelms and the running of the club has went back years now.
Granted there have now been small improvements in the last few months but the suspicion remains for many......myself included.
D4L though seems to be a complete busted flush.
It seems to be working, to the extent that our team is not doomed, yet! The real demonstration that this development strategy will work for us, will be the financial rewards when players leave us for transfer fees.
This side of the plan has not been delivered and I think it will be very easy to judge.
I agree Dee4life needs some new direction but holding feet to the fire will not make any difference, imo.
Better to try to build up support and try to help the people who work for the club.

Although we are not safe yet. If we get dragged into the playoff, then the season cannot be seen as successful as last season. That, in my opinion would reflect the dreadful mess at the close of last season/start of this season, which was clearly down to John Nelms. Pressley has made a decent job of that mess, but JN was prepared to sell Graham at the January window - it was Graham who rejected Portsmouth by all accounts. That decision would have dropped us in the mire. I need to see a lot better before I would trust the judgement of JN.Originally posted by BCram View PostMy view was that John Nelms was wholly responsible for the appointment of Elvis. Just me by my losers because I have so few.
Now who said that Leonardo de Caprio or Nelmsy?

It's not about strategy, where we finish, how much in transfer fees.....it's about whether the fans feel wanted, included, needed, appreciated, trusted with the truth.
Nelms has run a secretive dictatorship up to about 6 months ago......I'd think the slos have maybe helped him open up a tiny bit but the toys cud come oot the pram at any point and revert back to type.
I want to see D4L push for Q&A, push for shareholders meeting, DEMAND their rightful place on the board.....they ain't gonna do that BCram despite all the promises......that's why the are a busted flush and I'd also question if they could deny their members twice.....can they be trusted with A Shares or is that a cave in waiting to happen?
You cannot keep marching a
membership to the top of the hill and march them straight down again.
I know where we are in the league, I know we are on a decent run of form, I know the grass is green at Dens....that's not what I want or I suspect many members want from D4L

The D4L no confidence vote on JN, was meant to be a joint venture with the DSA,Originally posted by Returnofrros View PostIt wouldn't change anything re Nelms but it would signal a change in direction from D4L.

then we find out that three board members on the DSA are empoyees of JOHN NELMS ! therfore it is unlikely that a no confidence
vote on JN would ever take place. D4L are on their own.

See post 2 Deecom, according to Islay the vote took place.Originally posted by deecom View PostThe D4L no confidence vote on JN, was meant to be a joint venture with the DSA,

Is Islay wrong or am I reading that wrong.
I've also stated in conversations with acquaintances about the conflict of interest I see by being an employee of Nelms and a board member of DSA......if as Nelms has stated many times it's only DSA he recognises over and above the 2nd biggest shareholder

In my opinion employees of John Nelms should not be DSA board members. However the problem the DSA has is that the same board members remain in place every year because none of the secretary’s of the individual DSA affiliated supporters are prepared to put their name forward to be elected to join the DSA board. As a result it is more of the same every year with the DSA board members never complaining about the running of Dundee Football Club by John Nelms come what may providing the DSA get their allocation of tickets for away games every season.Originally posted by deecom View PostThe D4L no confidence vote on JN, was meant to be a joint venture with the DSA,

In my opinion the DSA will end up sleep walking into a financial disaster when Tim Keyes stops bankrolling Dundee Football Club.

At the Dee4life SGM on Saturday 28th February 2026 it was reported by the Chairman that several Dee4life directors had a meeting with several DSA board members but the Chairman did not tell us what was discussed or the outcome of the meeting. The Dee4life Chairman further added that the next meeting with the DSA is due to take place in June 2026.Originally posted by deecom View PostThe D4L no confidence vote on JN, was meant to be a joint venture with the DSA,
