I think we need to stop lawyers making money from refugees. Civil servants could set conditions for acceptance. First rule, which country did you first arrive in. Send them back to first country of safety.

There's no easy sea route into Australia for illegals like there is into UK.

If they tip up at an Aussie airport with no / dodgy papers and without applying, or without stating circumstances in advance, they don't get across the border, they aren't Australia's problem and are on the next flight back to wherever they came from so illegal entry is much more difficult.

Keir Starmer was a human rights lawyer before he became an MP. As long as Starmer remains Prime Minister there is no chance of the U.K. withdrawing from the European Human Rights Legislation which became law in 1951 and is now hopelessly out of date.
