I can assure you that the new rule on access from slip roads was known at that time and I doubt any responsible architect would propose such a design. Of course it could be that a completely unqualified individual just misinterpreted what they saw - is that a possibility?

Like you do not believe that the new stadium development will ever be built and John Nelms when asked directly what is happening about his new stadium development at Campy Nou churns out these replies to effectively ‘kick the can down the road’ for a few months to get the press off his back.Originally posted by Deeranged View PostI say 'would' and 'might' because I still believe these accesses will never be required because no stadium will ever be built.
The time to accept the 'planning submission imminent' comment by John Nelms as valid has passed IMO and I now consider that comment a total pi55 take.
A week past Saturday there was a topic on the Friends of Dundee FC Facebook Page about the new stadium development at Campy Nou. On Facebook people quote their own name and unlike Internet forums like Dundee Mad and the Dark Blues Forum do not hide behind a Username when making their posts.
One person in reply to my post stated that he had recently been speaking to John Bennett who told him that he (Bennett) had been at a presentation by John Nelms and Nelms stated that his new stadium development at Camperdown Leisure Park is a £250 million development.
Even if it is a $250 million development this equates to around £200 million based on current exchange rates.

They might not have known about the new rules until after the first Pre Application Notice meeting when Transport Scotland contacted them to state that the law had been changed regarding access from large car parks directly onto slip roads for roundabouts on the trunk road network.Originally posted by Deeranged View PostI can assure you that the new rule on access from slip roads was known at that time and I doubt any responsible architect would propose such a design. In my opinion this site at Campy Nou would make an ideal training facility for Dundee Football Club with a large indoor training facility similar to the Regional Performance centre at Caird Park and outdoor training pitches.
This would solve the need to rent the Dundee University playing fields for first team training which happened last Wednesday morning when the players restarted training after their short winter break and having to rent the indoor facility at Caird Park due to inclement weather.

The latest excuse will be that Nelmsy has been distracted by the Burnley owners deal with Dundee FC or the new Dundee Football Club University grade course which was announced last week to little comment on the forums including here.Originally posted by Returnofrros View Post586
When I read the press release on the Club website I had to check my calendar because I thiught it might have been 1st April.

More importantly it is now more than one month after the end of the 2023 calendar year and there is still no sign of John Nelms submitting his Planning Permission in Principle planning application for his new stadium development at Campy Nou to Dundee City Council.Originally posted by Returnofrros View Post577

And DFC are now in the top 6. Notice you never give any credit to the playing side of things, or the Owners backing.Originally posted by islaydarkblue View PostMore importantly it is now more than one month after the end of the 2023 calendar year and there is still no sign of John Nelms submitting his Planning Permission in Principle planning application for his new stadium development at Campy Nou to Dundee City Council.

It is thanks to Tim Keyes’s financial backing that we are currently in the top 6 and we have signed a lot of players on loan during this transfer window.Originally posted by BP33 View PostAnd DFC are now in the top 6. However I think that Tim Keyes has given up on the new stadium development at Campy Nou and left his representative in Dundee to get on with it himself.
Unless you know differently.

I’m more interested in the playing side, TBH. If the new stadium gets built, I’ll be surprised, but happy.Originally posted by Returnofrros View PostDo you not see these 2 things as completely separate issues BP ?
The ghost stadium and the team/playing side?
Can’t see what Nelmsy gets out of lying about stadium.

They of course are 2 different propositions,I think some posters see constant digs at nelms about the new stadium(warranted yes) but the playing side is totally down to the same owners and some just cant seem to give Nelms any praise.Originally posted by Returnofrros View PostDo you not see these 2 things as completely separate issues BP ?

More down to Tony Doc who was maybe 4th or 5th choice.Originally posted by eric_sinclair View PostThey of course are 2 different propositions,I think some posters see constant digs at nelms about the new stadium(warranted yes) but the playing side is totally down to the same owners and some just cant seem to give Nelms any praise.
