  • Falkirk away Matchday 1

Falkirk overwhelming favourites according to the bookies. Thoughts?

Don't mind the underdog tag myself, should be a nice incentive.

It's all set up for a home win. Plastic pitch, flag day, back from Europe on Thursday night, McGlynn bounce.
I'm not confident. Would take a draw now, get the 3 points on our second visit.

And it will never be Matchday 1 ADS it will always be first gemme of the season 😁

      I'm a modern man ok 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah I get our record isn't great there but this is a totally new team with no previous scars,or hardly any anyway. United should use this underdog tag to their advantage.

I hope so. Another match to gel together tonight. If we progress the feelgood factor builds.

Remember Will Ferry is suspended for this. I'm really hoping Nammo is fit to start. Alan Temple saying the club believe the pre season conditioning is all about preparation for playing Thursday Sunday Thursday although Kristijan Trapanovski might disagree.

How would you line us up?

KK can play left back as well as LCB so could cover Ferry and we go 4 at the back maybe?

Pre season conditioning? They're dropping like flies ffs!

I saw Goodwin saying he was giving them the toughest pre season ever. I can?t remember where I heard it (maybe Talksport) but there was some Tottenham staff member (or grass) who was saying the reason for Spurs? lengthy injury list was down to Big Ange?s training style? ie:- putting them through the ringer regularly at training.

Even though we all know the pitfall's of a trip to Falkirk i still find it strange that a newly promoted team are odds on to beat the team who finished 4th in top league and qualified for europe.I can only surmise that they have done their homework on our past history there and the huge turnover of players we have had,

There's a lot of statistics that point to us getting beat tbh but hopefully the only one that ultimately matters will go our way 🤞

Starting to feel less positive now the day has arrived. Too many unknown quantities in our team right now. Hopefully they find form and get us off to a winning start. I'm certainly more hopeful than expectant though.

Although his form has been a bit indifferent in the euro ties, Ferry’s absence today is still a massive blow.

F*ck sake, just looked at the team and didn't notice he was missing as well. Our injury list is a f*cking pisstake! All this " hardest pre-season ever" b*llocks needs to stop, cos it ain't working. Our bench is all kids. No faith whatsoever this afternoon now.

Ferry's suspended for the first two games, culmination of too many needless bookings last season. Dolcek left wing back I think, interesting to see how he gets on. Prob as good a starting line up as we could put together in circumstances, though I'd have started Stirton. but to not have one experienced player on your bench first game of the season is bit of an indictment of our situation, given Goodwin doesn't seem overly keen on using them. I don't have a problem with having a bench full of kids if they are good enough and you are looking to use them, but this is just dictated to by injuries.
