Sapsford spotted on crutches according to the BBC. Nightmare.

A fantastic first half display. When we get to the stage where we can strengthen the side with changes we will win matches like tonight. Not going to criticise any of these players tonight.

Our attention turns now to a domestic Cup double 🧡

Very proud to be an Arab tonight. All we can ask is that they players we have available give everything they can,and they did.

A lot of positives to take from our European campaign while it lasted, but another key injury though. Our luck is f*cking shyte!

Every match this year and most of last JG tries to sit on a lead and it bites us.

But also the depth of subbies is just not good enough.

Agree with the sitting on the lead. The subbie issue isna helped with the horrific injury list. We?ll have some squad by Xmas 😆

They were bringing on million pound players,we were bringing on academy graduates. Our injury list is horrendous, did you not notice? Sapsford having to go off was really damaging for us and helped them back into the game. If we were bitten that many times last season I doubt we'd have been playing European football last night in the first place.

The pitch invasion for finishing fourth was good fun though

Can?t blame JG for subbies. We are unbelievably unlucky with the amount of injuries.

The lads gave everything last night. Although disappointed with the result. I?m not disappointed with JG or the players.

The supporters and atmosphere last night was amazing.

Said it after the hearts game. If we had the majority of players fit. I don?t think they would have beat us and I felt the same last night.

                        🖤🧡

Firstly Fantastic performance for most of the night. Sibald unreal. Two massive glaring problems though. What the **** are we doing at defensive corners. It's a total mess. Nobody on back post last night yet again and we look terrified. The second issue is the exact same as against hearts. This has to be a Goodwin decision. The sitting back inviting constant pressure, then just allowing the ball to come in from wide. Its basically one big self destruct button we press and allow teams into the game for what? I'm just not getting it. Especially last night when we tried it with no actual pace to hit them on the counter. Fatah ain't ever running in behind, he needs the ball to feet and runners off him. On that, I thought Stirton had a poor game, not his usual bust a gut performance. Miller Thomson was excellent though and I think has shown he could be playing a bit more.

Agree with what you have said in the main. They were there for the taking, had we just believed and pressed a little more. A few of their players on yellows and had we pressed there may have been a red imminently; they were at it with the little tug backs etc. I also do not understand why Dolcek (left footed) is played on the right hand side and the opposite with Fatah I.e. left hand side. Otherwise it was a great night bar the result and what seemed like unsportsmanlike behaviour by their players not shaking hands at the end and choosing to celebrate with their fans more so and ignoring the traditional ?hard luck? commiserations. I only saw one of their players do this and he was a sub.

Unlucky United but we go again, with what is a brilliant fan base who deserve a mention in despatches!

Kucherenko had a brilliant game but in the penalty shoot out I don't know why he kept diving to his right when the penalties were all going to his left. They were good penalties that may have gone in anyway but just a wee niggle.

                                Absolutley agree AK.

Given the injury crisis, Goodwin and the threadbare squad did really well. If we had had more senior options available on the bench, I'm fairly sure we would have been able to match them in the 2nd half and win the game in the 90 minutes.

Oh, and that fecker that took out Sapsford for the penalty should have been red carded. Really dangourous and malicous tackle. I reckon Saps will be now be out for a couple of months. Maybe longer.

Great chance for Stirton towards the end of ET. No criticism from me though. He's still young and early on in tems of his development and career.

****e luck for Amar Fatah at the 1st penalty. Struck it well, sent keeper the wrong way, just an inch or two from being the perfect penalty.

Thought Kucherenko could have done a bit better at a couple of their pens. Seemed to chose his side too quickly, making it easy for the penalty taker. He did the same vs Shankland's pen last weekend. But, I'm not blaming him for the defeat. He made a couple of cracking saves during the match.

We certainly had Rapid worried. Despite the gulf in resources, and if they are to be honest, they will feel very relieved to have got through after we had them on the ropes at HT.
