Hey SA, normally up for a laugh at the funsters expense as well but United seem to be trying to outdo them regarding Dee-esque behaviour this season. I must be getting superstitious about laughing at them in case it comes back and bites us on the @rse.

Fun having a wee debate about their crowds and our crowds, one of them trying to make out ours are fake numbers
Funnily enough he chooses the last Tannadice derby to back up his theory he said
"10,300 at last 2-2 derby
8,000 v airdrie
Have a look at both games
if there’s only 2,300 more at derby, then I need new specs"
The irony is, the crowd given at the last Tannadice Derby (2-2),was clearly wrong, there were 10k Utd fans alone as the sales were visible in the lead up, the overall attendance was 12500-13500 in reality, that was clear being in the ground, to this day I can only assume Utd provided the home fans figure as the overall attendance in error as the figure they gave would make it similar to a boycott derby or a dens derby
Anyway, funsters talking shyte as usual because they can't pull over 5k for games for the most part not involving us visiting their middenComment

Yawn, not another crowd debate Shedka. It's just boring. FWIW you are no doubt right about the crowd being wrong at that derby but we do inflate the crowd, as do other teams, by adding in non attending ST holders and free tickets dished out even when they all don't attend. There was no way, IMHO, that there were over 8k at the Airdrie game, never! But as I say other teams do similar and we all know our crowds are better than Dundee. I would much rather we crowed about our record in the park rather than fictional crowd figures that most fans know are inflated.Originally posted by shedka View PostComment

Its not a debate as such, more annoyed why Utd gave a drastically lower figure at the April 2022 Derby when the crowds for that and the Sept 2021 Derby were pretty much the same, Asghars doing? Genuine error in given the home support as the overall figure?Originally posted by pertharab View Post
The crowds this season have been very good and it wasn't far off that for the Airdrie game to be fair, good home support abs Airdrie brought respectable 700, season tickets that don't turn up are counted for us and the fun so doesn't make a difference
Remember the GF holds over 5100 and ET 3000
The fun have had away supports of 4000, 3000 and a couple 800-1000 and sit at just over 6k average, forever weeComment

Our actual attendances have been pretty close to overall figures though, especially compared to the Edinburgh teams, sheep etc
Barring the derby mentioned, which was blatantly and laughably inaccurate add way lower than the reality, just found it amusing that the attendance for that derby was then referenced by a funster to try and discredit our very decent crowds this term as they struggle to break 5k in the top flight outside a decent travelling supportComment

wouldn't say I was obsessed 😁 but I do notice attendance figures and there's no doubt we have been getting much larger crowds than the big team for a long time.
The fact they're discussing it likely means the penny has well and truly dropped.
4700 was it for their last outing, that's poor for a sleeping giant now in the Premiership. Even when Asghargate was at its peak our crowds held up really well and our Foundation makes their equivalent look like a petty cash receipt.
United are dominant, have been for many years now, we just need to get straight back up to solidify and grow the fanbase even more.Comment

And.....when we're in the Championship they say we get larger crowds due to a winning team. So by that logic they would have got larger crowds in the Championship but they didn't.
I think they're not far from a busted club to be honest. A new stadium might generate some new interest but they'll still be PAYING RENT to Dark Blue Holdings. Dundee FC would not own a single brick there.Comment
