Not sure about the crowd at Jim Duffys game against a select Scotland team , but I do remember it was a Sunday afternoon in the dark so must’ve been winter time , I was in the main stand , now I’m very rarely in the main stand , so I’m thinking maybe it was only the main stand that was open , crowd then being limited to around 4K , might be bleatherin sh1te though ?Originally posted by Yeats 62 View Post"Only 3000 . For "one of their own" Who's career highlight is beating United, a true blue??? That can't be correct can it???
"
That wasn't a dig, that was a genuine comment on that such a local Dees hero only got 3K at his testimonial especially when he openly comments on not liking United, that usually would have pulled a lot more through the turnstiles.
I'm sure Jim Duffy got quite a bit more than that, (might have even been a ful hoose) and he's a west-coaster. Then again, they were playing a real team, and Scotland werent playing that night either.
Careful now..................you know you want to..........

Yeah that was our 1 home game that was still under restrictions so while I don't doubt that obviously had a bearing on the final season average the fact we also had an extra home game against one of the old firm and the fun didn't kind of evens that out .Originally posted by TerryTheTerror View PostDidn't we play sevco at Tannadice with a restricted attendance?

100 (one hundred) years after The Fun last won the Scottish Cup in 1910, 28,000 United fans travelled to Hampden to witness United lifting the Cup again.Originally posted by petermackie View PostThought your league and cups were still playing 💙💙💙
The Fun Curse remains to this day
"After Dundee won the cup in 1910, a crowd of around 20,000 greeted the victorious team when they arrived back in the early hours of the morning.
The cup winning team boarded a horse drawn carriage at Dock Street and into Union Street and by this time, the Dundee fans had taken over the duty of the horses and the precision carried on towards Dens. However, the weight on the fans broke the carriage’s back axel and the Dundee players ran the rest of the way to Dens Park with a police escort.
Now, Dundee folklore has it that the Scottish Cup was displayed in the window of a premises which belonged to a Dundee Director, who just happened to be an undertaker.
The story goes that a Dundee ‘speywife’ was so outraged and incensed by what she perceived as a bit of bad taste, she proceded to put a curse on the team stating that from that day onwards Dundee FC would never lay their hands on the silverware again"
And so it remains 🧡
