Dalby, and Moult , don't have the sweetest of first touches, but ...given a chance , hell yeah..they will score .. Wee bit like oor Davie to be honest.

Jonsson was a quality player, the foreign Dave Narey imo. Played centre-half and midfield just like the great man himself. He featured in a ten man shortlist for Iceland's greatest footballer of all time.Originally posted by Sande_Man View PostThink Siggi Jonsson was better than Lars Zetterlund. Defo a lack of decent foreign midfielders.
Dragutin Ristic was no bad on his day?.which wasn?t often enough!
Jimmy Gomis & Prince were brilliant players as well. Picked up for pennies but both had the hunger and desire to do well on the platform offered to them by United.

I think it suited us with Aberdeen winning yesterday
Sheep and Hibs both within 3 points - all or nothing we go for third place
Means a draw next week is not too bad and can keep us in touch
St Mirren drawing not ideal but have to hope we beat them at home to settle that 🤞🏼
Need to battle for every point
Come on United !!!

We need a must win mentality for every game, instead of that absolute shyte yesterday.Originally posted by LSArab View PostI think it suited us with Aberdeen winning yesterday

It was shyte after we conceded the second goal in particular, terrible and could have got really embarrassing if it wasn't already
We were definitely on the front foot through from early on yesterday, not sure how that wasn't trying to win, also could have the best winning mentality known to man and we will still lose 9/10 to a team with such a huge gulf in quality and options

Not having that! Big Davie did a great job for us, Jim Mc Lean, Alex Ferguson and Graeme Souness all signed him, that says it all. He might have made the most of his talents, but talents he had!Originally posted by arab777 View PostAgree about Billy Kirkwood, the type of player managers love who competently do the job the manager sets them up to do which will largely go unseen by many fans. Davie Dodds on the other hand was the luckiest player alive. He played for United at a time the service he received from the likes of Bannon and Sturrock was something a lot of strikers would dream of. When he went to Zamax they saw him close up in training and couldn't believe he lacked some of the basic skills of a professional footballer. Jim knew how to deploy him in that great United team. The rest of his career was pretty mediocre.

That wouldn't surprise me if Gallagher ends up at Dens as he'd sort out their ropey defence. No idea why he's not getting a new contract and was told that when we had 5 games to play and Ross Graham injured. Is he heading off to Derry City too? Is that it?
Goodwin's man management at times is highly suspect. One minute Babunski is playing every week, sometimes as captain, the next he's hardly getting any game time at all. Even worse, he loses his place to Campbell who has me (almost) wishing Odada was in the team instead of him.

You look at organisation an experienced central defender can bring - we are much better with Gallagher in the team
The fun need joe shaunassey there or they fall apart
It is strange that we are letting Gallagher go - we need to step up anyway these last 4 massive games

I never said he didn't do a great job for us. He scored a lot of goals. I said he was lucky to be playing for United when he did, having service most strikers can only dream of from the likes of Bannon and Sturrock. It worked. He never replicated what he did at United anywhere else.Originally posted by Handsup View PostNot having that! Gallagher was offered a one year deal then United withdrew that offer. Seemingly we are going to sign unproven players with potential. Just sounds like Ogren has turned into the Snake. All good on paper but football matches aren't won on paper and imo you need experience throughout the team to let the new ones slot in and show what they have to offer without pressure.
When Ogren came in we all said you won't make money from Scottish football. Even more worrying was him allowing Tony to do whatever he wanted. This latest idea better just stay as a thought and not implemented.

Whats getting said on EF?Originally posted by Arabdownsouth View PostIf the rumours on EF are anything to go by then we are unlikely to see Gallagher play again so I'd say our chances of 3rd are f*cked. The club and manager need a serious rethink on his lack of a contract offer. He'll end up over the road and we will live to regret it.

There is a worst case scenario of them beating us at Tannadice to go level on pts (would be ironic after beating them 4/4 without conceding)
Obviously there is a chance we can wrap top 5 up by then too but just think we need to be cautious at the moment as it's not decided, we don't want to end up with egg on our face
Especially now we had lost Luca and a suspension hanging over Ferry
As I said, the way the fixtures fell were not kind
No Holt, Graham, Luca from the squad that was strong into January, relying on a couple players who know they are not going to be here
Securing 5th is the objective and it's not a certainty
Can see St Mirren beating us next week, likely we'll need to win in the last day to secure Europe
