It was coming through a crowd of players so he saw it late. Took a small deflection too. Just unlucky I think. Shouldn't have let the ball get in the box like that without contesting the shot.

No they don't learn, the points that we have lost due to abysmal goal keeping have contributed to delegations and poor mid-table positions in the PL and Championship.

As to where we are now, we should have gone for Ramsdale when we had the chance. He wouldn't touch us with a bargepole now (nor would any other worthwhile keeper).

For a big bloke he's a bit of a lightweight. There was one cross straight at his chest which he should have caught but decided to punch. His distribution is terrible - he throws it a long way but never to one of our players.

Other than that:

Aaronson in contention for player of the season, who knew? Maybe he should shoot more often.

Stach was out on his feet and should have been subbed way earlier.

Gudmunsson is the best left back we've had since Tony Dorigo.

The ref was very inconsistent. We were booked for pulling their players back but that **** Barnes wasn't.
