      So, Farkes comments regarding Tanaka at todays presser;

"Pretty happy with Ao's recent performances. Was good in the cup game and backed it up on Monday. We were always convinced he could deliver. He's not that young any more. It's his first season in top-flight so needed time to adapt and find consistency. Wouldn't read too much into stats. He had top stats last season because he was in the best team in the league last season. But doesn't take anything away that he's a very important player for us"

So, "very happy" but it was AOs first start in how long? "Always convinced he could deliver", but gave him exactly how many minutes on the pitch to demonstrate that ability? "He's not that young any more".....he's 28 FFS!!! And his "first season in the top flight". Err, first season the ENGLISH top flight maybe, but he's not a Japanese international for nothing.

"Wouldn't read too much into the stats", WTF?????? Stats are the way modern football is analysed, they are the life blood of tactical development, team recruitment etc etc, but apparently not when it relates to AOs performances. "He had top stats last season because he was in the best team in the league", AO must be so glad he has such a supportive coach. How many players have "top stats" in their particular discipline in the team, and yet end up getting relegated (ask Aaron Ramsdale!).

Damned with faint praise, compared to the dewy-eyed effusive praise for Bijol and Okafor (both of whom deserve it, but have been no more "contributory" to Leeds success that AO (and with much greater playing time))

Tanaka has played 1150 minutes in all competitions and scored 4 times, Okafor has played 1700 and scored 6 times.

I really hope he starts and plays the exact same lineup he used at old trafford

That was a solid and motivated performance

Yep that would be good Spaldy and also home Longstaff and Gnonto get some decent minutes if we are comfortably ahead.

Farke?s press conference was strange and I sometimes wonder what gets lost in translation.

            Thanks

Lost in translation my ar5e!. He may have an accent, but his command of english isn't at fault. We know he has favourites, and equally we know not only does he bear grudges but he also isn't amenable to change. His comments about Tanaka were appalling considering the players contribution to an historic victory.

Neither Tanaka, Gnonto, Longstaff or James (at least) will be Leeds players next season irrespective of what division we are playing in and one man will be responsible for losing such talent.

Don?t get me wrong if I was Tanaka I wouldn?t have been very impressed and may have been tempted to wear my Japan shirt to training.

You also know this is an aspect of Farke that frustrates me.

Those interviews I tho k are more about defending himself than thinking about the impact on the player.

Marathe is said to like both Joseph (who is now injured) and Ramazani so there could be some interesting conversations this summer.

Never understood why ramazani went, Joseph I could as he just wasn?t good enough, ramazani however was good enough.

                    Lessons from Scum game:
                    1. Playing Nmecha and Calvert-Leuwin doesn't work. We scored 0 goals in last 2 league games with them up front.
                    2. Need 2 wide players to complement Calvert-Leuwin. Aaronson and Okafor did a decent job. In a couple of games he used Stach and Aaronson. 0 goals.
                    3. Need both Bogle (on right) and Gudmonsson (on left) for us to cause attacking danger consistently. We probably need to dip into transfer market to get more depth in these 2 positions, if we want to continue to play this system.
                    4. Aaronson must release the ball sooner when on the counter.
