  • Hi Oz. Are you currently living in Australia? Where if you don't mind me asking? I'm planning a 3 week trip there and might pick your brains on a couple of things I'm trying to fit into my itinerary.

Hi mate yes. In a small town north of melbourne 3 hours from the city. The main thing to know about Australia is it's flat all round with very few mountain's and high terrain. And a huge desert which covers 3 quarters OF Australia. The weather is ridiculous we go from one extreme to another. Like the rest of the world some parts are badly flooding while others are dry and in drought. If your driving around expect to pay fees for using roads and if you happen to go into a national park expect to pay also. If you want to hang around the cities don't wear good clothes or you'll be robbed in an instant. If you catch a taxi the indians drivers will make sure you pay a little extra. And if you get an uber your luckily to be robbed and if a woman rapped. In the countryside where i live people wear the same clothes every day hardly wash and talk the same things every day than cya tomorrow only to go through the same thing. When you go to the big cities such as Melbourne and Sydney expect to see Indian cities where you will hardly find a white Australian person, in Queensland which is owned by Chinese all asians, Northern territory where the crocs rule the land or Perth where all the rich people live due to mining and normal people can't afford a house.
The only Decent part of Australia to go is Adelaide which is more of a european flavour but outside the city it's mainly all desert with currently they are having a big drought.Or beautiful Tasmania with it's beautiful mountains snow a beautiful travelling experience driving the whole island, small villages all around with outstanding scenery. The population of the whole island is only 580 k. The people aren't as friendly as other parts of australia And they are called the kissing cousins because of there inbreeding. As for lawlessness there is none it's a lawless country but you can't have your own weapons to protect yourself. Australia is not what it used to be when called the lucky country where westerners loved to call it home but now leaving in droves. Lastly the population mostly lives in the big cites as out of current 27 mil only 9 mil leave in the country side hence the big flavour of Indians Asians Muslims and Afrikaans ruling the main cities. Do I recommend it here if you want adventure you will find it here but you need eyes behind your back. If you want scenery like europe forget it. Beaches are riddled with diseases and if you don't know what to look for Rifts will make sure you stay here permanently.
I'm sorry to paint a bleak picture but it is reality and it only gets worse. Oz whites might have a different picture and trying to remember I think he is from Tasmania but my brain doesn't work like it used to, But I'm all ears and happy to help.

      • Ohhh and we do have the most animals and species that can kill you in the world. This guy writes about some things of not to do here.

This a guide to what i have been refering too

Do yourself a favour go to European country not in conflict Greece the incredible islands which are usually very quiet most of the year but hospitality like none and the scenery out of this world. That's what i would do sell up and just see greece and happily die but my health issues won't let me. that's if you haven't been there. Or Italy much the same as greece but not many islands but stay away from the Romanian pickpockets. Europe countries that have been infiltrated by the islamist. Poland where no extremists are allowed to set foot.
Whatever you do go enjoy it as well all know and fear is not far away.

                • Thanks for the reply Oz. I'm surprised it's that bad. I didn't think anywhere had got as bad as UK...other than maybe parts of France.
I think the size of Australia would help swallow up the extras but guess most people live near the coast.
I'll probably still go. Winter 26 is the plan. Fly into Sydney and eventually go to Melbourne and Brisbane. I was thinking of various places to go see en route. Also is hire car worth it or greyhound suitable? Or trains etc.
If I enjoyed it I was looking at returning to Perth and Adelaide regions but I'll have to see for myself what it's like.

                  • See you looking to go to the main cities which are the main problem. In winter Sydney and all NSW plus queensland are a no go as flooding oks every year. Melbourne is ok weather wise even if you have a car it takes you hours to get anywhere and really sport is the only decent thing to see. Adelaide like I said is beautiful and has a european flavor but move out a little and it's all desert and nothing to see.
Perth is also beautiful but like adelaide once out it's very isolated and takes hours to go from one town to another. Regional towns are mostly similar not really much to do and see either. Like I said tasmania is the only decent place to go for a holiday but in winter you would think your back to the UK.
If you still instead of coming do the tour bus run as there experts are least you will see some of our beautiful things.
There is a reason ozzies see the world rather than our country lol

                      • Oz, other than amount of desert and the unbelievable number of animals that can kill you it sounds like a lot of other parts of the world. The only places that don't have those issues are totalitarian regimes and that's another matter entirely. Rural areas are generally safer.

However, I've heard from friends that have been there that the beaches are beautiful. That's always a huge plus and your summer is our winter. When I feel like punishing myself I look at the weather down under when I'm out in -10F and snow blown roads!

LOL i laugh when people travel overseas and sit by the beaches when they have their own. There is so much more to counties than just beaches only problem is now they are just getting two dangerous to go anywhere. Here you wouldn't be game to hire a car and go cruising sightseeing without free of been hijacked.
Here the law system is broken it's lawless. Just today we had a criminal violently breaking into a home terrorising the residents than went on on a carjacking spree caught. Magistrate's reaction I feel there is no hope for you and you will reoffend then lets' him go.

                            • I don't have the same negativity about my homeland, Sniffer. Sure we have some issues raised, but as Spaldy says, how many countries don't these days?? I'm in Queensland, and our Gold Coast beaches are up with the best in the world. And of course, up North with the Great Barrier Reef and its resort areas. Definitely worth seeing if you are heading this way.

Like I said what's the point of a holiday to go sit by the sea. There is wonders everywhere but sniffer wants to stay in the cities otherwise like I said Tasmania has everything that australia has to offer and relatively safe from the rest of oz criminals and you can actually speak to true ozzies lol
Been negative is the same been called here when you tell it as it is. You think I want to say the things I have? And yes the rest of the modern world is the same that's where it all start we just catch on.
