Thank you for the information Monaco. PNAS, the journal in which the study was published is a top journal (Proceedings of the National Academy of Science) here in the US. That said, I have seen these traits in the absolute elite of other sports such as swimming, and in American football quarterbacks. It's amazing that using machine learning (fundamental AI) they could identify elite athletes with 97% accuracy. That is incredible.

Professor Bonetti has been instrumental to combat & suppress my illness too & certainly his methods, imo, are one of the biggest opportunities that I & others who have contributed into via cognitive-neuroscience trials in trying to develop screening tools will hopefully become the futures norm.Originally posted by cherrypie7 View PostThank you for the information Monaco. With the advent of AI with advanced neuroimaging techniques like magnetoencephalography (MEG) & magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), its terrific that researchers can harness the wealth of data at their disposal to analyse individuals traits to progress matters of learning forward. 👏
By identifying early markers & potential indicators of diseases such as dementia, then cognitive neuroscience has the potential to transform early detection & intervention strategies that certainly were not available to me in my 20's - so yep AI has its uses when used correctly & gave me stratergies of hope to use daily, for sure.
Some may err about the use of A1 in sports, but it has a role, imo, with regard to implement improvement primarily in my eyes regarding mental/physical health of its participants nowadays under 24/7 pressures of mind & body, maybe of the fans that follow it too. ☺
I hope Bamford & his family are gonna be able to adjust to their next challenges in life too, which is certainly gonna be a new journey for him in mind & body, for sure.
Just saying

Sad when we have to delve into info from so-called professionals to tell us how the mind and other crap work.
No one person is the same, and no one brain is the same simple as. These professionals are the same ones who run our lives day in and out, from politicians to judges to other authorities.
Here we have anti-western values run through us every week with sick protests about other parts of the world we have nothing to do with, yet they blame us, and they also brainwash gays and other white idiots on their side, and no wonder Islam has taken over half the world already. The solution by the powers that be is to call out the true Australian value people for marching one day, not every week, and call them racist and nazis. Are these the professionals we are talking about and should be listening to.
In football very rare for top-paid footballers once signed on the dotted line to care very much what happens on the field as their bank accounts are rolling.
Bamf has made millions of pounds doing nothing, so I'm sure his family is well looked after, and his Maserati will be on the roads roaming the streets.
So we are told not to read the media, it's all BS, but it's ok to listen to some old fart telling us where our brain is going wrong!
I'm sorry if I'm not in your camp on this, my brain is precious and I trust it to do the right thing as circumstances change instead of reading some dush bag Bs.
Now, forgive me, I have to run to put out some fires started by some hijab nd activists of our national flags out and save the ones standing if there are any left.
Now waiting for the ridiculous of what am I on and other crap, but first we'd better read up on it before we post lol

Having done a number of FA badges and coached a lot of football, I think have smarter players is always good.
Modern game and modern coaches donÂ’t like a different point of view though so players who donÂ’t challenge what is happening are often preferred.
The idea that those who are not as intelligent are better footballer seems a little ridiculous. That said depends what you mean by intelligence (nothing there around 9 recognised forms).

Seeing he's been linked with the MLS. Actually might be good for him to play in a semi pro league. No relegation pressure and he could take up a spot on bench as an injured striker just as effectively over here as he did at Leeds. Why develop a young striker when you can just use him?

If the young players can play, you simply play them. The myth about looking after them is bollox. When I was a young lad, I was so fit I could play every day. Yes, they can't perform every game, and they will have downtime, but which professional players play 100% every game? We had Greece, for example, destroy one team, then they take half the youth out, replace them with experience, and they get flogged. This is Farkes' problem; he persists with players even though others are better, and they get upset and he dumps them.Originally posted by spaldy View PostSeeing he's been linked with the MLS. He looks at the system as opposed to the players - we only alighted on the Tanaka and Rothwell combo last season due to injuries to others.Originally posted by ozleeds View PostIf the young players can play, you simply play them. Not sure what he does in training or how he evaluates players but seems out of kilter with what you might expect.
Again, the idea of giving proper minutes to players for their development seems alien.
As you know I?m not the greatest fan of his management style but given he was promised the job and how he has done so far think he deserves a chance for a while longer.

Injuries seem to be the only way a player breaks into the lineup at Leeds. Even MB practiced that.
I suspect that it's a huge deterrent in the recruiting area and why we constantly seem to lose out on players that are almost "across the line". The think about it a while and realize they are just going to sit the bench unless the teachers pet gets injured. I think it's also likely that its why Sunderland and some of the European teams beat us out. It's not always about money.

Yeah that?s what I fear too Spaldy land maybe no coincidence that some of the younger talent we wanted to keep flew the academy nest this year.
I also don?t get why Charlie Cree is spending another fu session at Doncaster when he had rave reviews last year and looked good enough for the squad in pre season as well as starting for Wales.
Interesting stats re internationals - we only had 5 players away on duty Burnley and Sunderland bothe had closer to 15. Also a gap to the team with the next fewest.
