easy to moan some say.......so any inventive ideas on here into solutions for a more sustainable football industry........
a decision to scrap the Premier League controversial Profit and Sustainability Rules and adopt an alternative system is coming up in November now.... says chief executive Richard Masters..........
behind the scenes a potential new squad cost ratio SCR system for financial control was actually been tested by the Premier League..... but only on a shadowing non binding basis.....SCR is similar to the Uefa existing financial rules and allows clubs to spend up to a percentage of their total revenues on squad related costs.......
nine of the Premier Leagues twenty clubs already have to comply with the Uefa rule of SCR as a result of qualifying for Europe.....both Chelsea and Villa were fined by Uefa in July for breaching those rules.......
its all about closer alignment with European regulation........particlary squad cost ratio.... which is a revenue test........ Uefa is currently set at 70 per cent but our system will be 85 per cent because we always want our clubs to have the ability to invest.......
ticket pricing for events including football and fans behaviour are bubbling sporting agendas again......
i do see potential worrying signs ahead for Leeds stadium redevelopment blueprint changes.......... upon our fans......
having no sentiment for the Manc red scarfe raisers.... i now see that there are currently home match protests in front of the Mancs directors at every home game over their ticket pricing....... which may start elsewhere soon ........
as an 81 year old Manc fan recently pointed out...... in that his old seating section in the stand now has padded seats .... and he has now seen adverts for match seats near where his old seat was for 599 quid a game ........ he was paying 23 quid a game for the same privileged seat but was relocated to other seats at the end of last season as his area was being turned into a corporate zone....... starting this season.
he had been sitting in the same seat since 1980....... the move had an additional sting for him as he also received communication saying season tickets were only going up 5 per cent....... but in his case the club also said the discount for pensioners concession rates was also to be cut out......so his now new relocated seat is costing him double the price...... as it was 420 quid in total last year and is now 840 quid due to pensioner concessions being scrapped.
hope they personally get relegated.......but what the hell is Premier League playing at and were is it going to end......certainly needs real fans to join forces and have a say now......... and the football regulator to listen and act.
luckily not quite as bad with regard to european clubs ticket pricing...... but the Milan stadium redevelopment of the San Siro has got their ultra fans in a frenzy of which they have raised some serious financial backing to raise concerns on their behalf......
so an interesting continental mail bag to sort out for me on behalf of the Football Supporters Europe network next week.......
and possibly a very large correspondence tray from angry Sheffield Wednesfay fans for David Kogan....... who has just been appointed as the first chair of English footballs new independent regulator.
