  • Must win today?

Is today an absolute must win today? Villa are 10pts ahead of us, I would say it is.

With them missing quite a few first choice mid-fielders, having a shocking record at SJP, plus their current mini blip in form L-W-D-L in their last 4. It makes the lads favourite for this one absolutely.

Newcastle United's home record is 7 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss in their last 10 home matches across all competitions. The 1 loss being City in the cup.

It'll be a competitive match without doubt, they are no push over and 3rd in the league for a reason.

However, as I've stated everywhere, on other threads, in NUFC group chats etc. The club, team & fans want to be Champions League regulars, title challengers & cup winners. To do so means beating those clubs around you.

Beating Villa is a must but not for any reasons of desperation but for the reasons that the club is a force to be reconned with, a genuine top team and threat.

A draw from a winning position will feel like a lose and infuriate the knuckle draggers. I will be annoyed if points are dropped from a winning position at home 100%. However, I had confidence that the team are more than capable of wining this one.

    HWtLs!

Not an absolute must-win, I'd say. But it would be very, very handy - esp with games away at Liverpool and City in the cup next up.
I reckon that we'll win if we really go for it. Would be a good confidence boost.

Not a must win - but would be a statement of intent win

                    Ah, bollocks.

Was just thinking Villa were beginning to dominate.

Gonna be a tough old afternoon with our shitty record of points from losing positions.

Sounds like an end to end game - but goal at the wrong end

Only one team looking like scoring.

They have several players that can shoot. We only have Barnes.

Is there anything other ways to score apart from crossing into the box? We should look into that someday
