Well, I look at it this way, with that sort of money to spend, either a late one today or a hefty plunge next window, we will finish up with a better squad than we ever had when Isak was here.

Another point is, take away his pens out of the equation and he was over rated. I'm not saying he wasn't a fine footballer but at least you have learned that he lacked character and guts.

      Chronicle reporting this:
Newcastle United chiefs are satisfied with the ?130m fee they have banked for the sale of Alexander Isak.
We understand that the deal has been looked at as "very strong business" internally at Newcastle and that it will be reinvested into the squad and Isak will NOT receive any loyalty bonuses for his three years at the club following negotiations to remove any extra payments to the player from United.

If this is correct, seems he gets nothing from us and the final price is ?130million.

According to The Athletic, Isak is expected to put pen to paper on a six-year contract at Liverpool and he will undergo a medical on deadline day before finalising his much-anticipated move to Merseyside.

Might well be given the unreliability of the media these days.

Come across this as well: Liverpool had an opening offer of ?110m for Isak rejected by Eddie Howe's side earlier this summer, but it has since been reported that both clubs have now agreed a total transfer package worth a whopping ?130m.

          Truth will out eventually!!

Now imagine trying to bring in another striker, clubs know the club has
130 Million burning a hole in their pockets. Prices were already ridiculous. What are chances we only end up with 1 striker until January. And then in January we will be told "January isa notoriously difficult time to get transfers done" We are keeping our powder dry until next season" while we limp out of the Champions League, and cups

Not to mention his lack of character and sneaky antics. Having said all of that they compliment one another.

Well, I hope his ego can take the hit.

He is not their main man

Salah is, well Salah - proven to best the forward in the league over a number seasons.

Ekitike has hit the ground running, so his spot is surely nailed on.

Wirtz will compliment the front 3 much better as he chips in with assists and goals.

Isak will have to hope his fellows get injured to give him a chance, I just hope that troublesome thigh of his doesn?t feel the rust when he does get a run out.

Once they Ekitike, I think they went off Isak - could they have been told to stump up or be reported for tapping up? Had the decision to sell already been made after Isak jeapordised last season?

Anyway, glad he is gone, not happy about the price, and very disappointed it is to Liverpool.

Crossing everything he flops there. He was main man here and everything went to him, and he was used to that. Different story now

They?ve managed to rummage around to find our missing money to sign Guehi 😡

Absolute joke - we should have held firm and make them pick 😡

Unless of course we now end up with some super signings with the money we just got - then I might just change my mind 😆

Come-on PIF - change my mind

Yes. I said it at the weekend the Guehi money was how much they'd have paid extra for Isak at 18:55 tonight

Glad he is gone and 130 is a good fee but feel we have bent over and not got the full figure we could have.

Feel like an exorcist has been in and cleansed the club and I think the Dippers have bought a sicknote. 25% of games missed with us and I'd stick a tenner on he gets injured away with Sweden.

No pre season, no games, them stick legs....aye I'd say a groin is incoming.

?130 million with close to ?100 up front.

Also with no loyalty bounuses for him, that is between another ?7.5 to 10 million we don't have to pay out.

If you look at that, it comes to ?140 million.

                            For another positive spin.

My thoughts on it are that up until the meeting last week PIF hoped that they could persuade Isak to come back and they trusted Eddie to reintergrate him.

After that meeting he became clear they couldn't so that is when the deal started again.

I'm disappointed that it is only ?130 million to be honest as I believe we could have got them to ?150 million, however had it got to that, we'd have had to pay the roughly ?10 million in loyalty bounuses.

Either way, he's gone now - hopefully gets massively injured in the next game he plays.

Our season starts now this window is closed.

Yep. I'm not happy at all about Isak, but this is the way look look at it. Blank slate, now we can start afresh.

I think this is pretty spot on, Jammy. I suspect, if we hadn't sold him, he'd have refused to play.

We needed the money to pay for replacements so I'm not sure we had much choice.
