Top quality bit of stereotyping Keldsyke.

You really are playing a blinder on this thread!

Yep, learned from the blinkered, crying, unbalanced, shouty Lefties on here ( more stereo typing again!)

Turn off the telly and go for a walk. Mind you the sun sets at 4.12pm today in Nottingham, probably Starmers fault.
You seem to know a lot about GB news do you watch it?

As Mr Keldsyke’s principal adversary insists on using his usual overworked pork based collective insult , perhaps you might think the stereotyping is fairly universal.

Not really. The term ‘gammon’ is a jokey reference aimed at those middle aged men who’s face goes the colour of gammon when they rage about “those bloody foreigners coming over here and taking our jobs” etc. They as a group do exist!

The difference is that keldsyke specifically called Mapperleypie an unwashed benefit scrounger. Does he have evidence to back that up, or was it lazy stereotyping of anyone who holds views to the left of centre?

Just replying in the typical Leftie way of non sensible discussion and complete meltdown calling everyone a racist and trying to divert from the main facts because they haven't got there way that's all. Happy to debate sensibly with anyone, but the Lefties need to up their game that's all and accept that they aren't right all the time (ironically they are more right than they realize) :-) .. Thanks for coming

              • There are none so blind as those who cannot see ?
Name calling is rife and selective articles are used, only, when it agrees with the agenda, whilst being in total denial of anything contrary to that agenda and their personal points of view !
The inability to respect that others may have an opinion, that is in anyway contrary, results not in a worthwhile debate but dismissive, spiteful arrogance .
High time that everyone was treated with respect whatever opinions they contribute ?

Things like not calling other posters unwashed benefit scroungers?

Ironically, I was in a meeting with one of my Romainian work colleagues last week and she was raging about her neighbours who were expert benefit aficionados and they are British, it was funny seeing her rant! :-)

You seem to have missed the point of my previous post. Just like gammons, I don?t doubt there are many unwashed benefit scroungers around. It?s not the term I disagreed with, just keldsyke applying it to a specific poster without any evidence. That would be like me calling you a gammon when I don?t know whether you are or not.

                        • "it's just a joke" was more often than not used as a defence for all sorts of race humour back in the days when self-deprecation and taking the pee out of one another was an integral part of British working class culture.

Maybe there's a case to be made - if anybody is ever brave enough to do it - that 60s/70s humour did actually serve as a pressure release (including for early Black, Asian and Irish comedians) without which you might have seen an awful lot more violence and general unpleasantness at a time when people were still trying to make sense of a brand new situation, but for that to be the case today it can't only flow in one direction. Either we have a free for all or we decide that the targeting of immutable features is a term of abuse without exception.

If it's not acceptable for black people to call other black people "coconuts", "Uncle Tom" or "white supremacy in black face", then "Gammon" is not acceptable either.

I'm not trying to place myself on a pedestal here, Jerry Sadowitz is one of my favourite comedians of all time and he is probably the most offensive human being that's ever taken to a stage (makes Bernard Manning seem like somebody you'd have hired for a slot on Junior Showtime). I just think the world would be a much better place if people were more troubled and offended by physical violence and actual crime instead of caring so much about words, but it's far far easier for every poilce officer, keyboard warrior and his dog to deal with the latter.

The risk/reward ratio for tackling words rather than violence is now ruining us as a society.

But quite often it's words that cause the violence. Words start rumours that when false can cause untold hurt for innocent people. It's easy to dismiss it when you aren't on the receiving end.

I think times you deliberately miss the point to carry on the debate Elite, Gammon isn?t a jokey reference it?s an insult to people who don?t agree with certain viewpoints. It is often used by people who can only win the argument by name calling the other side. I have never actually met a middle aged man whose face goes the colour of gammon when they rage about foreigners etc, have you?

Anyway you carry on supporting this banter.

Most racists think they're being jokey with their race based insults and fail to realise they are being racist.
