We all need to PULL-TOGETHER at this moment in time and stop bitching FFS!!!. FOLLOW THE RULES, WASH HANDS, WEAR A MASK & KEEP 2M APART TO SAVE THE NHS AND TO SAVE LIVES!!!!
So whatever they do, it is out of order to criticise the government.

Can't see that one catching on somehow.

    • I quite like some of Jonathan Pie's stuff even though it usually comes from a different political perspective to mine. His material defending freedom of speech is especially good. However, I think this is one of his less impressive efforts because it doesn't show the same balance or acknowledgement of context which some of his videos do. This is basically an "I hate the Government" rant talking straight to a leftist audience, which he's perfectly entitled to do, but as such it lacks the depth and sophistication and perhaps the wider appeal of some of his other stuff.

Several of the recent Pie videos seem to have forgotten the original premise of the news reporter character and his amusing interactions with "Tim" the producer, to the point where it might just as well be Tom Walker ranting at the camera as himself. You see it happen with a lot of long-running comedy personas, where the actors or writers become self aware and start to over exaggerate or 'ham up' their performance, usually to detrimental effect, except for the late Rik Mayall!

Your drift seemed to be that we shouldn't criticise the government.

I don't see how that will make things better. Do we all have to pretend that they're making the right decisions?

Alarmingly, he said that this comedian shouldn’t be ‘allowed’ to criticise the government.

He should change his username to Kim jong-un Pie.

Yes. I complimented them on the speed the Nightingale hospitals were built, it was one of the few proactive decisions they've made although the use of them since is open to question. I also complimented them on the 80% furlough package, which I thought was pretty generous. Hopefully the vaccine programme will be another area for praise, but that's still in it's infancy.

The list of failures is far longer however:

                Slow to impose lockdowns
Desperately slow to implement a track and trace system
Slow to enforce the wearing of face coverings
Slow to understand the risk posed in care homes
                Slow to test incoming travellers
Slow to order PPE, wasting billions and lining the pockets of cronies
                Vague, ambiguous and muddled advice
                An unprecedented number of U-turns
Allowing the chief advisor to go unpunished after breaking the rules, to the point of actually lying on his behalf

Elite, my ‘drift’ was in hindsight perhaps a poor attempt to simulate JP’s style- hence the getting angrier & the Capitals towards the end of my post. Yes, anyone and everyone has the right to criticise the Government and /or any other political party and I would defend that right.

In that case, we are in agreement.

Desperately slow to implement a track and trace system ? Unsure of value of this really

Slow to understand the risk posed in care homes ☑ NHS sending old people back from hospital verging on criminal

More than 100,000 people have died with Covid-19 in the UK, after 1,631 deaths within 28 days of a positive test were recorded in the daily figures.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he took "full responsibility" for the government's actions, saying: "We truly did everything we could."

I know Johnson is a serial liar, but actually saying "We truly did everything we could" has to be his most sickening one yet.

Boris Johnson is a despicable human being.

                              • ... well that's the price of defending the NHS sacred cow ... 50,000 deaths within the last 2/3 months are related to Care Homes (mustn't have them die in hospitals/don't mention the Nightingales) ...
