Good news for TAR. That's a good move for him to a relatively big NL club and it would be good to see him establish him stand get a full injury-free season.
He barely played for us to be fair. Nolan used him as a sub sometimes when we were winning comfortably at home, and he looked like he had a decent left foot, but he wasn't cut out for the physicality of L2.

Virtually the last we saw of him was falling over at Harrogate for their 3rd goal. It just wasn't going to happen for him here. I hope he grabs hold of a place at Dale and keeps it
I didn't realise TAR was 27 years old. I honestly thought he was a lot younger and learning the game, and that we should have given him more time.

But seeing he's 27, he needs to be in a team that he'll has the chance to become a regular.

Good luck to him, he was obviously a very likeable person and I bet he was great fun to have around, even during his long injury keeping him out.

      • Just realized that Jordan Richards (son of Pedro) is back in the National League with Boston.

Midfielder Jordan Richards is the latest Boston United player to commit his future to the club.

          • Accrington have signed Jimmy Knowles.

Be interesting to see how he does at L2 level. I can imagine he'll get some goals for them tbh.

He definitely seemed to have that knack for getting goals, despite not really being technically gifted of physically strong.

Fair play to him. He’s no Macca, but I’ll be interested to see how he gets on in L2. Old-fashioned goal poacher who liked playing on the shoulder of the last defender, from what I remember. Had a few injuries since he left us (I seem to recall quite a bad one when on loan at Morton).

                  • Followed the link to read the latest on Brindley, and then carried on reading. I wish I hadn't. I wasn't that bothered by the notion that we may pick up an Aussie keeper from Charlton even though he's another Maynard(-Brewer) but the next story was about LW at Swansea saying that signing Langstaff and Jones from Notts were his top priorities. :-(

It could've been Dan Gosling joins Westlife for all I care.

I think this proves that our recruitment takes too many wild punts. I'm all for the risk v reward thing, but I think they need to rein in the parameters of who gets brought in and given pitch time for us. He played in about 15% of our L2 games last season.

Minutes on pitch won’t be anything like 15%
Gosling was emergency cover for Palmer. The options would have been very limited.

Not sure this means anything towards how recruitment process.

Gosling retired and became a u21 coach after us, but Westfield seem to be owned by someone with deep pockets that has lured another ex prem player, so isn't a case of finding his true level.

Ah our ‘Lucky Dip’ recruitment process as I call it, but we have a more advanced system the ‘pin a tail on a donkey’ system used to sign Morias. Or close our eyes, hands over ears and the problem will go away system for our back line coming into League 2.
