Walsall was only that far ahead because they got lucky with injuries and didn't suffer a drop until Lowe got recalled. They aren't that good a side, they just got very lucky early on in the season. They very much mirrored our season under Nolan where we had a great start to the season then got all the bumps on the second half of the seasonOriginally posted by SinceSept1959 View PostInteresting posts on The Saddlers Forum as to why they didn't win promotion
The criticisms of Sadler generally mirror the criticisms of Maynard particularly in game plan , team and bench selections , lack of strikers following the January transfer window etc etc.Last edited by SwalePie; 27-05-2025, 02:53 PM.

Had Weakling not done Jodi with that career threatening tackle Notts may well have had a similar points lead before further injuries and illness struck.Originally posted by Chicken Balti Pie View PostWalsall was only that far ahead because they got lucky with injuries and didn't suffer a drop until Lowe got recalled. Unfortunately for us they took 6 points off Notts scoring twice as many goals as Notts in the process.
Somewhat derailed by Lowe being recalled by Stoke but Walsall fans point out that the early season direct attacking style was replaced by tippy tappy , negative keep ball.
Now where have we seen that ?
Rather mirrors our season doesn't it ?
If your opinions are correct , does that make Maynard a better boss than Sadler by virtue that Sadler didn't have so many injured players ?

Strange that he's gone from being well regarded in a club that's just been promoted to the Premier League to a club that finished 19th in League 2?Originally posted by marky View PostTom Weal joins MK Dons as goalkeeping coach. Does that football club know you can bring people in who haven't got a connection with Notts County.

His Sunderland appointment was only until the end of this season.Originally posted by theadissey View PostStrange that he's gone from being well regarded in a club that's just been promoted to the Premier League to a club that finished 19th in League 2?
"Tom’s appointment until the end of the season will also enable the Club’s Head of Goalkeeping, Alessandro Barcherini, to further support first-team requirements throughout the rest of the campaign.”
