We'd still have Platt, Ness and McDonald playing for two spots, with Bedeu who can also play as part of a two. Macari could at a push but we'd be desperate. We would need to focus on full backs in the scenario though. As we would only have Macari and Bedeu. Tsaroulla would be wasted as a left back and Gordon just doesn't defend

I really don't think we're planning on anything like that without a Head Coach, that will be his call.

Obviously, there will be long, detailed meetings on preferred system as soon as he's appointed and this will decide the recruitment strategy.

All of Ardley, Burchnall, Williams, maynard chose to play 3 at the back IMO, but trends and preferences change so we will have to see.

With the whole possession based approach under review who knows whether we might tweak our own approach a bit? 4-1-4-1 might suit us?

Can't see us blowing ?250k on a position we're quite well off in when we have glaring gaps in midfield.

I think team formation will be a number one interview question.

Any Head Coach contender who's done their homework will extol the virtues of 3-5-2.

They all did a sterling job for Notts, although Fitzsimons was playing for Chesterfield at the time!

It would not surprise me if MK Dons wanted to sign Didzy especially with Paul Warne being the manager there and was Didzy's manager at Derby. Especially if they decide to spend money like they did with Nemane and Crowley and can offer players higher wages.

Let's hope it doesn't happen as playing MK Dons next season with Didzy, Crowley and Nemane in their team would be a bitter pill to swallow.

Derby offered McGoldrick considerably more than we did, he joined us

This summer should be about quality not quantity in terms of players coming in. Strengthening in midfield as we have lost Crowley and Abbott. Pace as we lost that with Nemane. Plus firepower even if Didzy signs.

                      That's four key players there.

We were not far off. Four less defeats, four extra wins short of Doncaster. Four points short of Donny on the road and eight points short of them at home.

Des Buckingham favoured formation is the 4-1-4-1 also known to like the 4-3-3

Why would he leave Notts if they offer him a contract. Money wasn?t a problem for him when leaving Derby they surely offered him more cash.
I?m sure he would love to get promotion with his boyhood club.

Yes, the proclamations from him when he arrived were pretty much that Notts was his last stop. Someone has privately told me that he's 'cleaned his locker out', how true that is I don't know. As others have said, I hope he's simply waiting to see who gets the hot seat because he would be a very, big, miss.
