Yeah, I think you and KC said it well.Originally posted by Bushwacka View PostCompared to the bohemian utopias that are Grimsby, Accrington, Barrow, Morecambe, Burslem, Chesterfield, Doncaster.....?
Nottingham has more than its share of deprived areas, but if you are a footballer who can afford to live in a relatively affluent area, then in terms of services, amenities, shopping, nightlife, the city knocks spots off most of League 1 and League 2 towns.
It says it all that once horrible exceptions like Luton, Stoke, Oldham have become the norm across England.
But Nottingham/Notts is big and interesting enough to live well, if you have a bit of money

Leaving aside the debate about whether Williams is the right man or not, we should seek to appoint the best candidate out there for the job. If they do well, whoever they are, there's a good chance they will get head-hunted by a bigger club and move on at some point. In the meantime we get the benefit of whatever progress they make.
I can't believe so many grown adults seem to expect professional football people to show undying loyalty to a club and turn down better opportunities. It's a business, not a love story. We've poached managers ourselves. The only thing that matters is will they improve us while they're here?

Absolutely not, I?m totally biased but Nottinghams the best city in the world in my eyes 😂. Joking aside Nottingham is seen as a very decent place and people with good sporting heritage. Think you were questioning it too AC.Originally posted by the_anticlough View PostStrong stuff KC, so do you think the city is working against us in recruiting and keeping players and managers?

No joking at all, this city is where I started my life and I want to end it here. Despite my travels abroad, to me it is the best city in the world and nowhere else could offer me what I have here. Love visiting other countries, but always love coming home.Originally posted by matt_magpie View PostAbsolutely not, I?m totally biased but Nottinghams the best city in the world in my eyes 😂. I thought this was a thread about possible new managers not the Merit of Nottingham as a city ??Originally posted by Elite_Pie View PostNo joking at all, this city is where I started my life and I want to end it here. Sunday Times recently listed Nottingham as the 9th worst place to live in England and it regularly appears on similar lists, at least since it became known as "Shottingham" 20 years or so ago. There's probably little difference though with most cities of a similar size in Western Europe. We must have the best bus service, there is that.Originally posted by matt_magpie View PostAbsolutely not, I?m totally biased but Nottinghams the best city in the world in my eyes 😂. I could list 20 worse places to live in about 30 seconds. My daughter is at UoN and has friends from all over England, and they all like it here. I'm not buying the fact that some ****hole towns in League 2 are in a better position to attract players.

It looks like 'fake news', Alves has gone from 1/2 to 2/1 in a day.Originally posted by Bushwacka View PostIt will be a fairly (very?) small market, subject to change with the odd ?10/20 that gets thrown on, but I'm a little concerned that someone has specifically requested BetVictor that Joao Alves to be added to the list. Let's hope it's one of the Reedtz have done it to throw people off the scent, eh.
I think if I put 50p on me to be next manager Elite_pie would make the list at 7/2!
