I mean York sent him out twice to clubs lower in the pyramid then released him & has got a contract at Notts. Must be laughing his bollox off. Was he well known on the non league scene. Not seen anybody raving about him or said we should take a look at him.
This could be a season that makes or breaks the Danes. Time to move on about how they saved us(piquet was waiting in the wings for starters) They have a fan base as good as I've known in the lower leagues(Pavis would have loved the support & Dunnett), now is not the time for cheap options & piss fans off, who have high expectations after last season

Exactly this. New training ground, The Nest, Padel courts, new pitch, new PA system will count for nothing if we finish 14th.

So far we have lost our two best players from last season in McGoldrick and Abbott, and the new signings don't set the pulse racing. Still plenty of time for additions, but our squad at the moment looks more bottom half than top half.

Those are my feelings too.Infrastructure is hugely important for any business but in football fans react to performances and results.

Not too sure how patient us fans are going to be with that.
Not getting promoted last season has clearly caused serious repercussions.
If that is the case why sack Maynard ?

The statement they made makes it sound like they wanted promotion last season but with some of these signings no chance.

Imo we never had a top 3 squad last season either the best 3 went up and they also had best qualified managers too.

Basically we have some bloke running about signing misfits and no head coach to have any input.

We did this in Jan too signed 4 players and its pretty clear our management team didnt rate them.

            Massively underwhelmed. Again.

Relegation scrap incoming as things stand.

Which footballing bastion will we raid next? San Marino? Mauritius? The Galapagos?

            The mind boggles.

              2 points here.

1/ We do not know how well the January signings will perform under a new manager

2/ We have not seen any of the new signings so far play so how can we judge them or anyone at this point in time

Not saying the changes so far persuade me one way or another but give it a chance before judging.

Does seem very left-field but obviously not a panic signing so I?m not sure what to make of it. Tbf Langstaff didn?t do anything at York or much before Gateshead and Cal Roberts came from the same level.
I can?t see us not having a decent budget this season but this guy and the loanee must be on quite low wages so I?ll just see what happens in the next few weeks before making any assessment.

Make or break for the owners in what way? Fans turn on them? Possible protests? Average home attendances fall from 10,000 to 7,500? Do we think they will lose interest and sell up if not promoted this season or next?

Fans do indeed react to performances and results, ultimately that?s all they are rightly bothered about. They don?t really care about the finances, money spent on infrastructure unless a new stand or stadium.

They care about the now, not the future. It?s always about the short term. As such fans come and go in numbers dependent on performances and more accurately results.

But infrastructure investment and improvements indeed are hugely important. If you don?t care of the infrastructure you are building your house on sand.

                  Ignore it at your peril.

Why do people have any expectation that players who have performed badly or suffered injuries at other clubs will magically come good at Notts?

Want to know what a Blackpool fan says about our new 'captain'? You know, he's seen him play, and that's all that matters ...

                    HeÂ’s absolutely ****

Why do the Jan signings need a new coach I mean thry dont have the skillsets so no manager is changing that.

These two signings today are laughable one is injured and the other would be worth a punt if 19/20 but 27 years old he is unlikely to get better.

Im sick of people lumping all blame on head coaches all the time my view is it should be a collective effort but its not as recruitment team seem bullet proof they are the ones who didnt replace Crowley or strenghen squad properly.

I'm sure most will give everybody a chance but come on, we aren't some team struggling on 2/3/5k fans at home games. We have plenty of sponsorship fans buying new shirts every season. We aren't an Accrington Harrogate or Bromley. You pick up a gem once in a blue moon. We've had ours. We now need season pros that know L2 & not band aid signings

I think the brothers have got to be a bit careful.

They have (on the whole) done a great job of building up the infrastructure at the club, however, after our frankly pathetic playoff campaign and losing our most skilful player, fan patience is running rather thin.

Football is ultimately a results business and if there are a few bad games at the start of the season, i wager the atmosphere will turn toxic quickly.

The fanbase needs a boost and an Afghan from the sixth division is not going to cut it, lads.

The vast majority of supporters (I guess!) would be looking for a statement of intent from the owners for the coming season, still a way to go yet but there is very little to get excited about so far.

I?ve lost interest now. No sign of a new manager and NLN signings. I fear we may well escape this division this season?the wrong way
