Seven weeks for all to be revealed in terms of head coach and players which is still quite an amount of time. Although this time last year two of our key trio of defensive signings Platt, Bass and Bedeau had made their way into the building by this time. Platt joined on 24th May, Bedeau 11th June and Bass was the last out of the trio to join on 18th June.

Still two weeks of this month to go and many contracts typically end on 30th June and new ones start on 1st July.

Last year those that came in during July were Gordon, Cundy and Hinchy.

Grant and Ness joined in August.

We need signings that inspire and we are getting bargain basement again. What the chuff is wrong with Bros? Hopefully they know that more than this dross is expected and needed? I thought last season was pants, but am fearing the worst for next.

Agree. Deciding if a signing is a good or bad signing, before they've even kicked a ball for Notts is not very smart.

I hope those making the disparaging remarks now will raise their hands and admit to the board what they said if he actually turns out to be any good !!? Perhaps they have short memories, have they forgotten the likes of Langstaff, Reuben, Roberts, Eli and even Crowley ? i love these doomsday merchants who wants to condemn a player before a ball has been kicked. I cant wait till we have the new manager and see the negative comments roll in before he's even sat down in the Hot seat !!

Yep, I imagine a few Leicester fans were complaining when they signed Jamie Vardy in 2012 from Fleetwood, who had just been promoted to the football league.
Leicester had already signed Manchester United duo Ritchie de Laet and Matthew James to their squad. Whatever happened to them.

Fans do indeed react to performances and results, ultimately that?s all they are rightly bothered about. They don?t really care about the finances, money spent on infrastructure unless a new stand or stadium.

They care about the now, not the future. It?s always about the short term. As such fans come and go in numbers dependent on performances and more accurately results.

But infrastructure investment and improvements indeed are hugely important. If you don?t care of the infrastructure you are building your house on sand.

                  Ignore it at your peril.
You think the bros are untouchable or what?
The bottom line is what happens on the football pitch. They didn't purchase the nest or paddles courts. They took on a football club. That's what everybody sees, looks for. Do they buy cheap beer for the nest or cheap Chinese rackets for the paddle courts? Yes a nice side project but on the pitch is what counts Majority of the fan base not bothered about them. No point having the nest & the fan base down at home games
If your going to sell your best players & replace with cheap options & results dip, fans are going to start to voice their concern at the owners.

Our promotion rivals are signing players who would walk into every team in this league. How many other L2 teams were interested in this guy? How many would consider signing a 27-year-old from tier six who's never really showed enough to play at this level? It could be a masterstroke, but chances are it won't be.

As others have said, the bros need to be careful. We really are at a crossroads in terms of momentum and fan sentiment.

I wish this guy all the very best and hope he succeeds in a Notts shirt. But now, we need to see some big signings and an impressive head coach coming through the door. You can't hope for incremental improvement by weakening the squad each year.

Let us say you are correct and all the brothers do is buy on the cheap, they haven't half done bad with this strategy so far. !
Secured promotion from the National league after consistently being in the play offs. Challenging for a promotion spot in the first season back in the football league and then securing a promotion chasing play off spot. So if the narrative is they buy cheap and we are crap i think league campaigns might just blow your theory out of the water !!
PS does anyone on here know how much the wage bill is ? I'm convinced it isn't chirpy chirpy cheap cheap, as suggested by some !

I'm far from a brother basher, but this signing is poor. We needed 6 quality players who would come straight in to the first team and improve us. This is a signing we may have made in the Conference and even then I'd have been underwhelmed.

The Norwood signing is pretty 'meh' as well. The man is injured. We are just replacing average players with more average players.

Remind me. Where did we get promotion from? The biggest club in that division the 1st season beatig teams like Dover, Ebbsfleet. Where did we finish the last 2 seasons. What have the fans been moaning about. Home performances, not the nest or paddles courts. Cheap cheap hasn't got success

The January window at the time seemed poor but this summers signings are not what I would expect from a side aiming for a top position and just seems to be a continuation of januarys window. That?s presuming that finishing near the top is the aim.
We have signed a striker with 5 seasons experience that appears to have hit form for the last two months of those 5 seasons only and weve given him 3 years.
A lad on loan for the season who may be good and thats why weve strangely moved this early for a seasons loan but has little experience.
An Injury prone 32 year old journeyman and a player deemed not good enough by his club at a division lower.
4 weeks without a manager/head coach call him what you like but so far in what is a shorter off season we aint capturing the imagination of supporters and it is becoming concerning.

Club is finishing higher every season, if that continues we'll be in the promotion mix again. We have no divine right for success and there have been Clubs with bigger budgets than ours trying to get out too.

Regarding Kouyhar, he looks like a back up player to me that can come off the bench and offer something different, which we were really lacking last season. I'll never understand this writing a player off before seeing them play, like some oracle of football that can see into the future
