It’s a shame Barry Fry doesn’t work for us. Sam would be going for 5 Mill minimum if he was in charge.
If Nombe was a Peterborough player, they wouldn't open their shop unless 4 million quid was on the table. They sold a centre half to Rangers for 2.9 million this summer.

You just know that we'll sell Nombe for an "undisclosed" amount, the reality of which will be 2m. We'll reinvest 300k and the rest "will go on wages".

We have to get top dollar for him and that means easily 3-4 million. He's 26 years old. He could score 20+ goals this season.

Why does Paul Davis publish such articles? Only Rotherham do it.
He has 2 years of his contract still to go and this should not be under discussion.
It?s more like a click bait article.
We need to improve our squad not make it worse.
      These articles really annoy me.
Is scuttling along in the lower reaches of this league the limit of our ambitions?
If it is then the owner needs to sell up.
Time and time again we have been promoted and not consolidated, signing journeymen.
Encouragingly this year we are going for youth but that has to be with experience, so if we sell Nombe, who exactly are we going to bring in that?s better than him.
A football fan shouldn?t be concerned with how much money we get for them. Winning the match is all that matters. At my age I want success but this constant talking us down will not attract anyone.
We now seem to be referring to the likes of Stockport County as big guns in our league. Give me strength. I think if that?s true the club has given up. We were 3 divisions ahead of them a couple of seasons ago.

Heliospan, we have always been poor at selling our players.

        Viktor Johansson 1.2 Mill
        Ollie Rathbone 500,000
        Ben Wiles 1 million+
I seem to have forgotten others we sold?, help me out here.

Just those three typify our 'giveaway' prices instead of looking after all three, by offering them 'earlier' contracts and letting them go elsewhere for next to nothing. Had we extended their contracts and had to balance the books by selling them, they would have been worth hell of a lot more. Who knows, Ollie may still well have been here had we treated him with more respect.

You’re right Brin I’d love him at the reebok but I think anything over ?1.5m to ?2m for Sam is pie in the sky. If you were a Championship club and he’d proved it there then maybe but those kind of numbers rarely get paid for L1 players. Look at Wycombe who were touting ?7m for Kone but are now looking at way less than half that. Obviously if someone with deep pockets in the Championship sees him as the man they want then you may get that or more but I sincerely doubt it however much you rate him. It seems like it’s the lad himself who’s pushing the move so that may also affect how much you get, you certainly don’t want an unhappy player. Like I said, if you get your money back or slightly more and his wages off the books it would be a good move all round.

I think his injury I’ll stop any move this window, most clubs don’t buy injured players. That means he has to perform for us until January and that is good for us, not good for the budget though.
I still think Hugill should have been told in may that he wouldn’t be part of the named squad, he then has to decide that his time as a footballer is up or to move on. Football careers are short and he is at the wrong end, it would be a very stupid man that would have decided to throw away a year just to take the money, unless he doesn’t care about playing that is.

Hopefully Sam isn't going anywhere, but neither is Hugilll, but we really need another option, I feel that Gru's son won't be the answer, neither will JJ if he's ever available.

I too can see potential in McGuckin and Yeovil supporters were very praiseworthy. Got to play tonight but how much of the ball will he see ? !

Hugill is 33yo. I don't think it's stupid to hang on for a year on his current wage vs moving on and earning 25/30% of that elsewhere. He also has a young family.

Nombe - The club is skint. Looked like Hamshaw was touting him out to other clubs last week. If we're going to get decent money, he has to be sold now. He's not going to sign a new contract. I'm not sure any club is going to offer the numbers nentioned on these messagboards. If I was Hamshaw and the number was £2m+, I'd be saying to the chairman, I need 50% of the fee for squad building. We need more players and I'm not sure they will be forthcoming without cashing in on Nombe now. So let's hope he's not injured.

McGuckin played off a big forward or wide right in a front 3 will get the best out of him. Hughill not got the height really to keep lunping high balls up to. Kayode & Etete need better & not such risks with injuries.

We were after another forward before this so now we need two, let?s be honest what we have will struggle to get 8 goals each this season, and that means a bottom six position. You can?t win games if you don?t score goals, so this is a major crisis and anyone that doesn?t see that at the club is kidding themselves. If we have to reduce wages to pay for it then, some kids out of loan and sacrifice one or two midfielders.

We have five strikers and your fretting about wanting 2 more. TS is not made of money. They all need paying for. If as you say "it's a major crisis" just go along for the ride M8. There's no use worrying yourself about what you can't control.
