TS has ran the club better than other clubs financially.
But the club would have had more money in the coffers, if TS had brought someone in with football knowledge from the start.
Let's face it big mistakes have been made with

Length of contracts, letting players run down their contracts, instead of selling the players, so the club lost a lot of money.
Allowing managers, especially Steve Evans to bring in players for a last pay day, with lengthy contracts, with some being injury prone.

When you look at Barry Fry at Peterborough United, love or hate him, he has brought money into his club, with his football knowledge in his dealings.
The Millers could have done with someone with Fry's ideas, on how to make money on getting players in, then selling for a good profit.

In the period that TS has been the chairman of Rotherham United, the club has played in the Championship for 7 seasons. That compares to 3 seasons for Peterborough United.

The latest set of accounts for Peterborough United has them £16.6 million in debt.

We know about the accounts of Peterborough United.
But my post is not about debt, or how many times a club has been in the championship its about how Peterborough United had someone on the board who knew about football, buying & selling players for a profit, knowing about contracts & when to sell or buy a player.
Rotherham United could have had a better financial setting with such a person.

If you know about the financials at Peterborough how do you come to this conclusion. Barry Fry and Co just had a scattergun approach to recruiting players. Hundreds of them. Do you know how much cash they wasted on the failures vs the successful one's?

How many bloated contracts were offered and subsequently paid off.

Stewart isn't helping his legacy and maybe he's been very fortunate with his past success but he doesn't deserve the crap he's receiving.

His headline business isn't making money at the moment and he's propping up the club financially. In the next 30 days we'll see how much in the latest accounts to 30th June 2025. Which doesn't include this season.

Evans went through 88 players thereabouts in three years. He was allowed to do that, lest it be forgotten. In the end it was known supposedly that it was not allowed to be continued. Hence the leaving by mutual content, so the reason was fully plausible, realistic.
            That summer the spending stopped.
We have seen similar timeframes over the years of stop start stop spending. The timing of which coincide with a few things.

Spending on players sometimes has been after a player leaves for nothing. As in the case of Ogbene, as with many he didn’t cost much, retaining to the bitter end, to allow secured promotion or league status must have been done with in mind that he cost little in the first place.
We know that is not a good strategy.
Look how a few players have gone that way, because in the end we would not break the wage structure, so there is the reason.

Stewart is not a bad owner, just not a very astute football one. Timing of things is a key club issue, this is crucial for a steady continuity of playing standards. Good or bad, warne achieved that on less money than evans or taylor or evans again.
Warne is the only one out of the three to really bring players in and sell for a profit.
There is an exception I believe in Ward. But that came due to a sell on clause, so I am not really counting it.

In the end, our lack of fortunes over managers and the last 3 seasons is due to timing of player recruitment and lack of judgement in keeping the right manager and hiring wrong ones or ones which could not work due to timing of the spend cycle.
Which invariably left on field success down to lady luck.

Stewart has spent over (his budget) at the wrong times with the wrong managers. And would not push the boat out a little more in the final warne summer. Money made from Ajai and vualks was not put back in.

We have let people go after improving and not reinvesting the profit at all sometimes or enough, then when he did, it got squandered.

This is the key to the whole situation. There is not enough focus here, in the club, in the media, with fans, in it. Because it alone is the cause, chain reaction, including desperate manager hiring and sacking to cure short term what goes wrong long term.

Hamshaw his only redeeming factor is he'll stand up & take all the flak. One last chance tonight to make us harder to beat. That means no Adeboyega Mcwilliams Yearwood Martha Gray Biancheri starting.

You are unbelievable. Ade, martha I will give you. Dawson the clown you have forgot. But, come on man up and name a line up since you have excluded a good number of outfield players. What do you suggest we play….and frankly your stirring up is in the wrong thread.

Dawson I forgive him saved us a few times tell what got them back into the game Saturday Adeboyega passing ball to them in midfield then left us open to a breakaway. 4-5-1 tonight:

                  Dawson

                  Rafferty Baptist Agbaire James

J Holmes Spence Cover Benson Watmore

                  Nombe.

That's from the players we have here fit at the club at present. Gore for Cover if he can be risked tonight.

Or maybe all six of those have proven to enough people, at enough different set-ups, that they have enough talent to do a job if the situation is right... so maybe, just maybe, it's MH's job not to drop people on a rotational basis when things don't work, but to look inward and explore the possibility that they need things like.... a formation that suits them, the right kind of players beside them for that formation, better motivation, etc

I've not seen hardly anything of Biancheri (and unless you routinely watch Wales U17s, I doubt anyone would have enough to go on), but the rest have all demonstrated in games for us that they're capable. I couldn't care a toss at this stage who starts, who's benched, and who's home sulking... I just want him to drag performances out of those on the pitch. They all have something to give.

                          Linked by whom?
Looks like there's a chance he could go back to West Brom.

I'm not sure what people think will happen if Hamshaw gets the sack but you can bet a lot of folk won't like his replacement either.....including you 😉

It’s clear we have accepted relegation. We have employed a cheap coach and this will result in relegation. The club have allowed this to manifest.
The supporters don’t matter. You would struggle to get more than 10% of the fan base think the current coach is the right person for the job.
Sleepwalking into relegation. The board are ok with it the deluded are ok with it. Fans will vote with their feet hopefully. How much are our season tickets? A joke club with a joke leadership team with a joke coach.
