Clark has got nothing to lose, if we go down, it's not his fault, if we stay up,then it will be greatest escape of all time, and will deserve the job full time.
In the next 2 weeks he's got to find a team that stops giving goals away, and one that can create more chances, and then finish them....piece of p*ss !

Got to agree about Lincoln, done well this season but as we know the championship is more than a step up in footballing terms.
Cant see them being there long playing that way and that team.
As for us - rebuild / clear out from top to bottom and just hope it?s good enuff to progress otherwise non leaugue footy might be just around the corner

I've been wondering about him Brin and whether he really is considering taking over from TS when he completes his assessment of how the club is being run and what needs to happen to put things right.Originally posted by Brin View PostMellow, as always you deliver a level headed and honest post. As for your last sentence, I wonder how Phil Smith is viewing all of this?
He's probably the best hope we've got but I imagine the costs involved will be pretty eye watering and he may not fancy the inevitable hassle of restructuring the club to make it competitive.
I presume you've heard the rumour that he financed the January signings and also invested a significant sum (several millions) into the running of the club.
I've no idea whether any of that is actually true.

Paul Davis gave Martha a 1 rating said was a passenger. I'll take his word. We need Hall & Gore fit in midfield starting with the Easter games. Kelly his legs have gone. Watmore same but use as an impact player bringing him on. Centre defence needs some work on it.

Mellow, I was aware of Smith's involvement with the January signings and he's allegedly picking up their wage bill.Originally posted by mellowmiller View PostI've been wondering about him Brin and whether he really is considering taking over from TS when he completes his assessment of how the club is being run and what needs to happen to put things right.

As for investing several millions into the club I very much doubt that. He stated he is only helping to oversee the daily running of the club and where improvements can be made in order to save Stewart some cash.
For that reason I see it just as that, 'overseeing' but, maybe waiting to pounce when we drop down and the price becomes less. Ask yourself this question, would you put several millions of your hard earned cash into something you'll get nothing back for?

Watching that match yesterday.I thought Lincoln were just like the Warne sides that took us up.They were solid in defence and had that aggression and desire to attack. They were not much better than us but we seem so vulnerable at the back.I'm presuming that Tonge and Wood picked the side with Lee only having hours to examine the squad.I'm sure the new manager will have seen our weaknesses and with twelve days before the next match,he has time to work something out.Hopefully four or five injured players will return and we can start winning games. We must win all home games and pick another two or three points away.We have players who can do this, they just need a manager who can play the right system.Let's all get behind them,I don't want to see League 2 football next season.

New manager comes in, international break giving us time to regroup and plan a late surge towards mid table would be an ideal scenario. However, in the real world other teams above us in the league table already have points in the bag. Unfortunately LC is no master tactician. If LC pulls this one off and we survive the drop, there would be no reason to release him at the end of this, what has been for us a dire, dreadful and dismal season full of intrigue, TS gone MIA, the long list to players finding themselves forever in the treatment room and some gutless performances from some players deemed fit to pull on a Miller's shirt.
There are times when I wish someone would make an executive decision and take our Club back to Millmoor and start afresh and rebuild a team worth watching and a club we can all be proud to talk about.
Maybe that last bit is one for the birds but stranger things have happened and I'm sure it will.
Forever A Miller
