    Voyager 1 did.

NASA supposedly "launched the Voyager 1 space probe on September 5, 1977."

Approximately 13 years later "In 1990, Voyager 1 turned its cameras back to take a historic portrait of the Solar System, capturing Earth as a tiny speck of light in the vastness of space."
"The Pale Blue Dot" as it's been described.

There were no closer images of Earth taken by Voyager 1. Wonder why?

Was it all just a non-event?

You actually ask an interesting question, so I looked into it.

The reason is because its purpose was to explore out into space, and it did not have filters that would have been required to take photography so close to the sun. Probably because everything is a trade off, and filters are at the expense of the type of images you can capture and weight too. If it had pointed its cameras towards the sun it would have fried the sensors.

There was years of debate whether it was even worth risking trying to capture the 1990 photo because of this, however it was decided that the risk was worth taking due to how far it had travelled by then and the rareness of the opportunity to capture such an image.

See, when having basic questions all it takes is a little basic research and some interesting answers.

No it doesn't sound mad, it sounds retarded.

I know you're on the wind up but I'll humour you. Expand on this dome theory. Is it a solid structure or some kind of gaseous hazard? And what do you think operation fishbowl was meant to achieve?

As for the flat Earth vs spherical Earth debate... No one has ever taken a true image/photo of planet Earth simply because no one has travelled that far out in space to do that.
Too much to take in there. But a lot of people are in the know.
But there are pictures of the earth. So where does that leave your flat earth theory?

Frying sensors? OMG!! Voyager 1 picking out planet Earth from millions of miles away?! It didn't happen.

I'm pleased that you are pleased with my interesting questions though. So why have individual artists been tasked over the years to incorrectly create images of planet Earth? Oh, and some artists have used cut and paste to include some clouds to make the images look acceptable to the more curious amongst us.
We live on plane t Earth.

You are one of the many who accept that there are "pictures" of planet Earth. That's correct they are just that, "pictures". Not actual photos. Lol.
Maybe your attempt at humouring/patronizing me just backfired.

Some artists were also tasked to create images of planet Earth. Oh, and to make them look more interesting to the gullible they used cut and paste to include some clouds.

Nice try but it hasn't worked.

What about pictures of other planets taken by various probes and telescopes, are they all drawings too and cut and paste jobs?

And why haven't you answered the questions I asked about the dome?

Think you need to do more research before asking me about the dome and its construct.
Maybe start with the big bang theory and the theory of gravity. Yes, gravity in itself is just a theory and associated with density.
The latter enables us to stand on a flat plane.

Bit much for a Bank holiday weekend. However, you did ask.

No I don't want to start with the big bang theory or gravity, I want to start with your dome theory and operation fishbowl, which you mentioned a few days ago.

I'll ask you for a third time, what in your opinion was the purpose of operation fishbowl and what is this "dome" made out of.

And again, pictures of other planets? All fake?

You might need to do some of your own research rather than just keep asking me to provide you with the answers.

                    Clue time....
There is a construct which separates every living thing here on Earth from that reported cold inhospitable vacuum of space.

You tell me what that construct could possibly be.
How would you describe that entity which protects us?

I don't need to do any research. You told people to look up operation fishbowl yesterday and that there is some kind of dome.

What's the matter, have gone shy? I'm giving you the opportunity to illustrate to the entire forum that you know absolutely **** all about science.

So again, what do YOU think operation fishbowl was intended to do and what is this supposed dome made from in your opinion?

You are now displaying some traits of a narcissist with a know it all attitude.
Maybe if you wished to debate such matters you might have to have more knowledge to draw from in your toolbox. Do you possess such a toolbox? If so, you might need to sharpen up the contents. They seem to be rusty and blunt.

You might like to look up the derivation of the word "science" too. But if you know you know.
                        That makes it okay then?

Just to recap, the above is what YOU said yesterday in a reply to John.

So come on, don't scuttle away. Tell me what the dome is and what you think the purpose of operation fishbowl was. Once you've done that, I'll educate you on it.

Yet again a tired lame, underwhelming and unedifying response to the debate. You are doing yourself no favours by shining a light on your narcissism. Nay, not just any light but a humungous super trouper.

By the way when does the w!lly waving contest begin?
                            Just can't wait.

I'm trying to have a debate but you won't have one. You made a statement yesterday which I want you to expand on.

                              Why can't you do that?

You now appear to have run out of ideas. I reckon a nerve has been touched.
