NASA supposedly "launched the Voyager 1 space probe on September 5, 1977."
Approximately 13 years later "In 1990, Voyager 1 turned its cameras back to take a historic portrait of the Solar System, capturing Earth as a tiny speck of light in the vastness of space."
"The Pale Blue Dot" as it's been described.
There were no closer images of Earth taken by Voyager 1. Wonder why?
Was it all just a non-event?
