  • Post stevenage.

Well, we huffed and puffed, though much more solid at the back against a very average dull team.
Jules actually won so many headers, I had to check the number on the shirt. Fair play on MOTM.
It is a back hand compliment as that was a one off performance. Still, we got it. And one from Kelly.
I would put this down to LC.

So the call for AR as a manager does not thrill me. I expected more from them. They played very much like he used to do.
To be up there they cannot have lost many, which in this div separates us in this case.

We were a bit more compact as a unit. But we fizzled out in the second, as did the game and a bizarre ref. The extra played, some of it must have been time he wasted, being overburdening and pedantic.

We seemed to have a little more energy, but then not enough after 2 weeks.

We know a point at home is not enough, but the tactical play that has supposedly been worked on I could not see much evidence of. And bringing Benson on so late, baffling as we needed his creative spark.

Creative spark which produces something extra. Missing. Sums it up.

Already said couldn't understand keeping Watmore on with Benson on the bench. Baptist not starting? Gray on the left?

Baptise had had a long run of poor performances. Benson late was very odd.

Today, all defenders were solid, so “not understanding why x” is irrelevent.

Damage was already done. Poor recruitment and poor coaching this season has done us.
The referee couldnÂ’t keep up he was blowing out of his arse.
The keeper is a shocking signing slowed everything down.Gore should have been sent off earlier. WeÂ’re down thanks to a poor selection of manager unfortunately. IÂ’ll be at Port Vale though.

We looked a lot better organised and solid at the back, we lacked creativity and as others have said benson should have been on for watmore on 70 minutes. Another tissue paper player injured by running for the ball!! What research was carried out in recruitment, no idea how RS has survived the cull.
kelly was excellent, why is that well he played in a deep two in front of a four, playing players in the correct position and playing football in a formation that suits the players you have.
We never really looked like scoring and deep down i think, the players, the fans and the executives just want to get to the end of the season and have already accepted the relegation.

Is the die already cast? Who might manage us as we must start thinking about life in L2? The Shrews and the Gas have found life hard there - won?t be easy for us, either

To think, Bromley may be a division above us next year?..

Regardless of who is our manager, we will not get a decent performance out of this bunch of players. Any confidence, composure or zip has been gradually sucked out of the team and there is only one outcome this season. Ah well, someone has to be relegated and its our turn.

I was hoping for more, even from a make do and mend line up. But the inner flame, the desperate will to overcome and survive is just not there. These players tried, but not hard enough. They should play every game like it's their last. But they didn't. Most of them seem to rate themselves higher than the club we love. Most of them are thinking about next season somewhere else (if someone is willing to take them). I respect the effort and contribution of Rafferty and Nombe today, but overall we didn't look like the home side. We can't complain about the result in this very drab game. Gray had a chance that should have been buried. But to be fair Stevenage missed a sitter (or two)

Well, I thought we gave it a jolly well good go. We matched a team in the top six and played the better football. Finishing as always was our downfall.
The 85th minute chance falls for Gray, and we win 1-0.
Revs will always be an iconic figure in our club's history, but if that was a view of his footballing philosophy, don't call us, we'll call you......

Unfortunately, they may very well call AR……. This is a terrible division, and they personified it, drab. Does not excuse us though.

The Gray so called chance. The ball got deflected and came behind him, it wasn’t really a chance.

The lack of comment after the game, and near same responses and why does really tell a tale. I may have covered and said it all.
I expected some other various views, but it all spoke for itself yesterday.

Oh, and the so called attendance?? the amount of stay away increased yesterday. Bunch every single person attending into one area and it would not make 6k.

The increase of prices this year, lack of real investment, both to recover the huge loss reported, leaves a clear threat of reduced income thro advertising revenue, gate money and ST sales loss because relegation is the result.
Over 3 years huge mistakes have been made and now the cracks have become gaping holes.

This is getting to be as serious as before Stewart took over in terms of where do we go from here. Stewart paid for debts to be cleared in taking over the club of a far less amount, far less. RUFC are technically in debt to his company, group call it what you will.
Should those loans be called in, because they have not been written off each year, it would leave us or a new owner in a poor position.

Everyone is saying a big clear out of players is needed. Many will not be here for loans and contract reasons. We do not have that many we could sell actually. And how much will be provided to buy any new players? Because if a L2 budget is provided then the quality will be lower.
Season tickets and match day prices. Will the club do, could it be afforded, to reduce prices to reward 3 years of loyalty. Absolutely no one inside or outside the club can say in 3 years we have had value for money.

These are important times for RUFC. I hope the club realise it. I think they have been AWOL too long,

Sorry but yesterday's performance was a disgrace.

Regardless of the result, the intensity, bite and aggression was non existent. To say these matches were all going to be cup finals, I hope they all feel ashamed.

I had to check to see if Ted Cann was playing in his slippers- he was so slow in his distribution.

That lethargy was transmitted through out the whole team.

I don't want to see any of these players at my club next season. They can go and sponge a living from some other suckers.

I'm not going to say we're ready for the drop just yet but I seem to remember the
last match of the season at Valley Parade Saturday, 11th May 1991. We were due to be relegated from Division 3 to the old Division 4 anyway. I think.
When Bradford City scored first we started chanting,
                            "We're going down
                            We're going down
                            You're not
                            You're not"
The Police in the crowd, expecting there to be trouble, couldn't believe their eyes They had rye smiles on their faces.

We eventually lost the match to Bradford City.
And my point is? We as a club and the supporters will bounce back. You'll see.

                            UTM!!!!

That Gray chance would have been better if it had fell to Nombe. Gore had no need to put that tackle in to get sent off, he was only in his own half. Going to need fresh legs Tuesday for Watmore, Kelly possibly & with Gore suspended. Midfield needs more energy so James can forward on the left. J Holmes had his chance yesterday didn't take it. You don't know which Martha is going to turn up yesterday he gave us more than we had previously.
