He was there, but he certainly wasn't enjoying it. He hated every second of the Warne era.

Warney running off to the away dugout remember! Can remember the celebration in the Millmoor Inn 81 & we didn't go straight back down again unlike with him!

I'm not just talking about football.
Management in any environment is not easy and there are far more factors involved than you would ever be able to appreciate.

A closet Evans, always suspected. Had he have been retained we would have gone down for sure. Hamshaw to the rescue.

                Work that one out.

Make of that what you will.
                  Answer. Players and insufficient physios.

And doesn?t he show it. All he knows is to call out an ?apparent? misplaced post, and can?t work out that a mod had moved it.
The post in question was relevant to an upcoming game. Placed before the match game thread. So not out of line.

That shows you how arrogant he is, and petty and unobservant.

Give it a rest. Try reasoned argument then perhaps folks will not sound you out.

This thread is about Clarke. Not to be hijacked into how we should have kept or not the great managers of the past.

What do we know of him. Honestly, four games ago I said, who?

I think based on what hasn’t happened in 4 games, he hasn’t made any difference. In fact he has probably made it worse, far worse.
If he thinks players are going to respond to that he is very mistaken.
For he still has a job to do and supposedly inform the club of a retained list, such that it will be other than a forced in contract one.
Good luck in trying to move on some of the in contract players now.

Trap should have been firmly shut. Airing dirty laundry in public is not a particularly thing this club likes doing. Richardson didn’t get much allowance, and he was mild by comparison.

I don’t think the outburst will have gone down well. After all, Tony signs off on everything with transfers…..oops.

I assume from previous displays and general comments, when he played all could see a good player the side needed. Suddenly he had trouble passing a ball, which looked as though it was down to role played in and general tactics.

Benson was always going to break down at some point again. The difference is before there was nothing wrong whilst he was playing.

Clarke pointed to players not being able to do things they wanted. A basic rule in management is don’t get players to do what they can’t do.
He just might have. And a major reason for that display? He may have sounded off way too much in public, that I found too much.

It’s not me miss, it’s him.
Thanks for telling us the basic rule of football management Pep, I appreciate that. Shame you didn't tell your mate Hamshaw when he persisted with playing wing backs when it didn't suit the players.

As for LC he simply wants the players to run and play with intensity. Not much to ask from a professional footballer is it really?

Another sarky member. Arguing for the sake of it. Let me put you straight.

                            1. He is saying they can’t do it, not that there is anything wrong with doing it nor would any of us disagree. He is stating why they can’t.

                            2. Never supported hamshaw playing 3 at the back. My view was, inc WB, we don’t have the players for it….example, jules! energetic defender, not really.

However, the great games and performances we had, albeit isolated with 3 at the back, even recently, plymouth, away at exeter means 3 at the back isn’t a given naughty.

Like many I liked what he said , the manner he took and already a desire to sort it !

In my decades of support have I have never heard anyone speak so open!

The seasons over but I?d feel much more confident with LC being there next season than another gamble. The guys at the top must know what he said is the reality of where we are.

I loved Ronnie and Warney a close second but Clarke seems to me a genuine and sound fella !!

Give him the job for next season Tony ( or whoever )
