You might as well argue with a lump of pork Towner, you'll get as much sense as you do from RU66 ☹️Originally posted by Townerslovechild View PostYeah it was bloody awful when Warne was the manager wasn't it ?
And was a roaring success last time Evo was here, do you ever think before you type anything ?

Did anyone read the SM interview in the YT? SM asks for patience but ends it by saying not to expect results until October or November. Now I understand the principle around taking the new players etc to bed in but by October we could already be in the bottom 4 and another relegation battle. It makes you wonder if this executive group want us to go down again, surely to stop the rot and get the fans back inside a good start is essential

I've not spoken to anybody who is renewing their ST until they see some enthusiasm from the chairman.Talking to a Wednesday fan and he was saying that they thought the TunaMan was a bad'un but asked me what the hell is your chairman doing? It's not very good.!!!!Originally posted by Derbymiller View PostDid anyone read the SM interview in the YT? I share those concerns and also believe your last sentence is exactly right. But on the recruitment side, for players and a head coach, could it be that McLaren is focussing his current efforts on player recruitment because he is talking charge of that and a head coach is less urgent because there is no coaching to actually do yet? At least I?m hoping there is some sort of reason for the current situation and it?s not just our usual bumbling lethargic incompetence.Originally posted by Brin View PostThe longer this farce continues and with the new season encroaching more each day without any recruitment, there is the possibility this going one way.
McClaren will be asked by Stewart to step in as Manager. Knowing the limited budget, McClaren will decline so as not to embarrass himself in failing and will walk away seeing how his contract is an open one.
Make no bones about it, IF we haven't announced a new Manager by the start of next week, then the s.hit will really hit the fan. If the truth be known, I think Stewart was too scared to take on Lee Clark because he wasn't a YES man that Stewart wouldn't have been able to control. For me Clark WAS the Manager we needed, he saw through the shirkers etc spoke his mind and Stewart didn't like that.

Pontius pilot perhaps? Appointing SM to be in charge of ALL football matters means it we are not doing well he can say "not me guv, I left all that to Steve". For a man so experienced with the media to come out and say that results might not happen until October or November is a very stupid comment, he should know better.Originally posted by MillerBill View PostI've not spoken to anybody who is renewing their ST until they see some enthusiasm from the chairman.Talking to a Wednesday fan and he was saying that they thought the TunaMan was a bad'un but asked me what the hell is your chairman doing? What's Barlaser done since he left us apart from filling his pockets!

Don?t shoot me down but it seems to me if we simply can?t attract anyone to fill this head coach role(I?m quite happy to be proved wrong) I don?t know if it?s our reputation (if we have one) for hiring and firing poor training facilities a dictatorial chairman or what but how about appointing Woody?
I know I know it could be a big fat no no BUT he loves the club he?s already here unlike our mysterious head coach and if the limited info we have coming out of the club he?d only pick and coach the team so nothing really important then !!! Everything else seems to be the domain of Mr McLaren and unless something happens in the next few days it may be a case of better the devil you know, the only thing I would say is hopefully he will improve our defensive capabilities from last season

Remember the following saga?
"Sven-G0ran Erikssons time at Notts County in 2009 as Director of Football is remembered as one of the most bizarre and spectacular episodes in modern football history. Enticed by a consortium promising millions and an ambitious vision to take the League Two club to the Premier League, Eriksson was ultimately duped as part of a massive financial fraud."
"The former England manager was unveiled as the Director of Football at League Two side Notts County. Backed by the mysterious "Munto Finance" consortium (subsequently linked to a parent company called Qadbak), the project promised unlimited investment and a multi-year blueprint to propel the world's oldest professional football club into the top flight. Eriksson was the face of this ambitious project, attracting high-profile players like former England defender Sol Campbell to the East Midlands club."
"Within months, the dream turned into a financial disaster. The promised millions never materialized, and the individuals backing the consortium proved to be involved in a massive con. The mastermind behind the takeover, convicted fraudster Russell King, even persuaded Eriksson to travel to North Korea on bizarre business trips tied to claims of massive mineral wealth."
"By the time the extent of the fraud became clear, Notts County was drowning in debt and facing administration. Eriksson resigned from his position as director of football in February 2010 to protect himself and attempt to save the club as new ownership took over. Though the project failed disastrously, he managed to escape the ordeal without personal financial ruin, though he admitted it was a big mistake."

Excellent post and reminder on how these things can be a disaster. I don't think it matches us 100% as TS is still the owner but it is a good example. Something doesn't feel right at the moment, it is just a feeling but I don't think the SM appointment is all the positive news that others do.Originally posted by Spuddy Speight View PostRemember the following saga?
