CAM, come on you of all people should know about advertising having lived State side all those years and how much revenue it pulls in. I thought I heard the other day that Fox News? had bought the rights to all advertising in all three countries. How many Millions if not billions of dollars will that make them from their percentage take? It's all about the muneeeeeeeee. That extra 3 minute delay before every kick off for yet more advertisements is making them richer by the day. FIFA need condemning to allow this to happen but, we are talking about the Yanks and they always get their own way.

To put it into context, ITV won't disclose how much they charge and does not break out the cost of individual ads but media industry sources estimate that a 30-second commercial in an England game can cost as much as £300,000.

Now compare that to the fact that FOX News will lose approximately a staggering 20 Million dollars in advertising rights if the USA don't make the final.......mind blowing or what?

Now planned hydration breaks are without doubt a pact between FIFA and broadcasters, otherwise why have them at every game, even the ones being played indoors in climate controlled stadia.

I meant to post this earlier about the Germany v Curacao game.
When the score was 1-1 did anyone else notice the incident where Germany got a corner and their player took it but the ball was out of the quadrant.
The linesman flagged so they took it again and scored to make it 2-1.
Surely in a situation like that where a team seeks to gain an unfair advantage by cheating they should lose the corner and the defending team should be given a goal kick.
Come on FIFA, you know it makes sense.

The Americans have always wanted the game to be played in four quarters for the benefit of advertisers.
Seems as though they've achieved it through stealth in the world's biggest tournament.
