I can?t remember the last time I enjoyed a game at NYS as much as that one.
Shame we didn?t get the win but plenty of positives.
Reece James was my MOTM. He was none stop up and down that line for 99 minutes and quality crosses into the box for both goals.

I?m off to Valencia tonight so I?m missing the Barnsley and Donny games but feeling much better about them now.

I’ve been to Valencia a couple of times. It’s great. Try the Santa Rita restaurant it’s Italian and Mediterranean really nice food
Watch out for friendly locals telling you they love the English hugging you they are pickpockets.
You should enjoy it it’s a great place.

Enjoyed the game yesterday. Still got work to do but it?s still early. Hopefully we can kick on now. There second goal was offside. On another day we win that.

Warney said..... football is a young man's game. All, yes all our older players need gone. Ragget included. If we're in transition no point paying these has beens. Kelly and Hughil are 2 players out of 9 that continually contribute nothing so it's 9 v 11. Ragget scares me, every cross is panic. Do you think Woody would have been so Mr nice guy after having his shirt ripped off? Need X2 centre halves of the Macca Swailes type otherwise we're screwed. We can't rely on just how good Etete was all the time

What a difference a week makes.
Better all around performance and some nice football played.
As mentioned by others, Etete now looks a like a player. Very good.
Pity we could not see it out for a win.
I guess you got to applaud how good Wigan were at getting away with what they did, hopefully better refs will pull them up on it, but I wouldn?t bet on it.
On to Barnsley with a bit of hope!

              Thanks for the advice mate.

We are heading to the La Tomatina in bunol. Tons of tomatoes are dumped in the street and thousands of people spend an hour throwing them at each other.

Just listened to Hammy?s post match interview.

Accepted that in football sometimes people don?t do their jobs properly and it happens but won?t throw any individuals under the bus

Meanwhile, in a pub in Blackpool. Steve Evans blamed Icky despite him playing for Port Vale.

Kaleta was a revelation in the first half but, apart from his efforts, everything else was largely forgettable. Thankfully MH realised very little was working and his substitutions changed everything, including the atmosphere in the ground.
Etete and Sherif worked well together and surely both must start the next game. Having said that, Etete should have buried a free header which would have made it 3-1 and probably killed the game off.
We seem to be forgetting that MH probably hasn't been able to pick his ideal first team yet because he's been very unlucky with injuries and it's clear that some players aren't up to full fitness yet. The time to judge will be when he has a full squad to pick from and when, hopefully, some of the "hangers on" have been jettisoned.
Some of the new young players look very promising and, if we can bring in a couple more quality additions, I'm optimistic that we might have a reasonable season.

Good to see a bit of positivity on here for a change.

Don't agree with NWC that the first half was abysmal, but do agree with Ulley that Powell was MoM. The midfield has looked a bit limited in skill. and ambition, but yesterday suggests that there might be a good blend of abilities there when they are more familiar with each other.

I thought Kelly did well in a time-limited role. Dawson is a good shot-stopper, but I wish he would be a tad more commanding around the 6 yard box.

                    The ref had a shocker.

Before yesterdays game I was hoping and praying we’d get some out of the game as 3 league defeats in a row could have npbpbeen damaging, a draw isn’t great but something to build on we almost got the 3 points so much to be positive about, before yesterdays game I was worried where the goals are going to come from now Nombe is out, while I’m happy we scored twice I must admit I’m really worried about the defence, I know you shouldn’t compare but I watched the West Ham Chelsea game and West Ham play a similar system to us with 3 at the back, interesting to see it being played in the Prem with what you’d think would be better players however look at the goals they conceded 2 from corners like us ( v Cardiff and yesterday) players not doing the basics Powell I think yesterday at the near post, West Ham keeper flapping about and players generally not knowing who to mark
I think what I’m trying to say is this is basic stuff that can hopefully be eradicated you have to look at senior players like Raggett and Dawson to take responsibility with things like this, hopefully with a new addition (MH has stated this player will be a leader type to organise something we thought Raggett could do but up to now isn’t), Agbaire coming back EVENTUALLY will hopefully make more organised MH can’t do it all players need to take responsibility too

Fair enough mate. I just think if we had continued with that first half approach we would have lost and deservedly so. Two good changes from MH and it made all the difference.

Hopes are that KE can keep fit and then we have a decent strike force. I do hope MH gets backing for some more backup because next weeks bench looks pretty weak with Hughill on it.

We started well with Kaleta looking very dangerous and creating chances, then they regrouped and put us under presssure and we lost the thread. Unlucky for their first Dawson made the save and Raggett couldn't get out of the way
Second half was much better, more effort and ideas we looked like the team to win it. The 2 young lads up front were a revelation-Poor marking again for their equaliser lad stood on his own.
Referee was an utter joke, 4 penalty shouts 1 certain hand ball, 1 handball that would have been given 7 times out of ten and 2 cases of players having shirts pulled off their backs as some one said had we been the away side and had 4 such claims against us at least 1 would have been given.
Dawson. Good shot stopper but anchored to his line too much for me. The short play out ball always goes to Raggett on his left weaker foot i don't get that at all.
Rafferty. Given MOM wouldn't argue too much played well put a lot of effort in and led from the front.
Raggett. Always have my heart in my mouth when he has the ball on the floor, has always looked a bit cumbersome to me.
James. Did well in the back 3, prefer him as a wing back but needs must.
Hall. I thought he had a good game but had to play more as a full back as they had Hungbo in an advanced position.
Kelly. Not mobile enough, can play some good passes but had his day for me.
Gore. Didn't show much in first half better in second, but where is he supposed to be playing, just behind the front 2? if so he's not involved enough and he is a good player
Powell. Missed him last week, better in second half when he had someone else doing a bit of running for him. Couldn't understand why he didn't have a shot in the first half when it sat nicely up for him on his left foot.
Kaleta. Nice to see a wide man taking the opposition on created some good openings in the first 10 minutes then they nobbled him.
Sherif. Lovely to see him score his goal, though he ought to have scored earlier when he was put through. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him.
Hugill. Put him on furlough, tell him to stay home and look after the kids. He's taking the P@@s.
Etete. What a difference from the cameo against Port Vale, Speed skill and effort a revelation.
McWillaims. Good for him to score, gave energy in the second hald. I'm not his biggest fan but well done to him.

Working progress, let's wait until christmas before the doom and gloom starts.

4-3-3 way to go. Ronnie Moore yesterday said 2 big forwards need better crossing in. I'd have McGuckin on the right of Sherif & Etete got more scope than Holmes. Kaleta McWilliams Powell midfield 3. Rafferty James 2 full backs. Centre backs need one in at least let's see what Clarke or Duncan can do there.

Etete is not that type of forward - and I don?t think sheriff is either. Etete?s footwork is his strength alongside his hold up play but he?s not going to be an Alan Lee type forward. 532 or 4411 would be the formation I?d go for.
