Yes and as we are used to the fee was 'undisclosed' Reported to be in the low 7 figures so somewhere between $1M and $4m. Not bad for something Mr. Wardle (hence it being called Wordle) developed in his spare time for his girlfriend to play. Made it available to others and had 90 users in November, 300,000 in December and millions today. NYT will eventually put it behind their paywall.
