It's finally over and The Home Boys romp to a 5pt win over the Exiles and lift the inaugural MM Wordle Ryder Cup. All in all a pretty close affair (apart from the result) and The Exiles can take solace in knowing they had the best single day performance scoring 11 on 26/1 but mixed that in with a couple of abject performances scoring 19 on 29/1 and 4/2.

Really enjoyed that CAM despite the result and my less than mediocre performance. Totally ingenious formatting. I wonder how many other groups have had so many sports competitions built around Wordl: Matchplay golf; football league; ten-pin bowling and now Ryder Cup golf.

You should publish a PhD dissertation on the subject!

Thanks for the kind words chaps and as a reward I've come up with a quick chance for the Exiles to redeem themselves. As Superbowl Sunday is upcoming here in the US, let's have our own competition over the next 4 days to represent the 4 quarters of the game. Same teams as for the Ryder Cup with individual scores (as calculated below) being added together to form the team score.

Wordle 1 = 2 Converted Touchdowns = 14pts
Wordle 2 = Converted Touchdown + Field Goal = 10pts
Wordle 3 = Unconverted Touchdown = 6pts
Wordle 4 = Field Goal = 3pts
Wordle 5/6 = huffing and puffing = 0pts
Wordle fail = Safety = 2pts to the opposition

Game on from 8/2 through 11/2. Good luck.
