  • This ain?t America we are an island.

Trump aint perfect but he has made a difference to migration. Our lot are 100% clueless. Britain is in rapid decline - way of life, security, housing, health , crime, education the list goes on.

Wonder what the king thinks ?? I suspect her maj - god bless her would have had a word in Starmergeddons ear hole.

So a *** offender who got a 12 month prison sentance does but a few weeks - then gets ****ty at the airport and they give him ?500.00 via a system and government that denied pensioners the few hundred quid of a winter fuel payment

      Cant go on this
I'm convinced that in years to come, this period in UK history will be studied so that future generations can understand the paradox of people crying out for freedom and control at the same time. The internet has turned into a swamp full of people (and bots, I'd imagine) crying out for watertight controls of borders (which are larger than the USAs BTW) and migrants... and (I'm not saying many of the same, but it certainly seems a theme) people moaning about everything from excessive CCTV, cashless society big brother theories, ID cards, and so on.

I've not seen anyone from absolutely any background offer a solution which doesn't require controls which will impact everyone in some way, don't stack up to the reality of what's happening, or lead to the country being somewhere between a pariah state and endlessly reshaping trade agreements because of an 'us first' approach to handling migrants.

        Here's some:

Net migration in the UK reached historic highs following the introduction of the post-Brexit immigration system. While this is likely to have only minor effects on the labour market and public finances, evidence on housing is more mixed. The impact of further policy reforms targeting demand for migrant workers is also uncertain.

I think a comprehensive study into the impact on health care would be very useful to enable people to have a better understanding of the impact of migration on the UK. As yet there doesnÂ’t seem to be one.

Also, regarding benefits, I would have thought that should be quite easy for the government to be able to produce the stats.

They don't want you to know.

          This sums this country up.

Nearly 200,000 people on benefits could have their debts to their energy supplier cancelled, if they make some effort to pay what is owed.

Unpaid bills and fees have soared in recent years with energy prices so high, leaving a record ?4.4bn owed to suppliers.

Up to ?500m could be knocked off the total under plans that regulator Ofgem wants to take effect early next year.

But that will also require the cost to be covered through an extra ?5 added to everyone's gas and electricity bill. Households on a price cap tariff already typically pay ?52 a year to deal with historic debt as part of the ?1,755 annual bill.

If you don't earn ?50k plus and you have a few kids, don't bother working and don't bother to pay any bills. There will be no consequences. Tax payers will foot the bill.

What the heck, get yourself a couple of overseas holidays to help you cope with all the stress.

                You're talking legal migration?

There are 2 angles to this re health care.

                1. Our health and social care services have been hugely propped up by immigrants coming in specifically in the last few years to fill these so called low to mid skilled jobs as we couldn't fill them domestically (low wage and low status vs long hours and very demanding work in care sector). So the first thing you'd have to say regarding migration impacting health care is surely it's a god send? I'm sure we'd all prefer the jobs to be higher wage and status so that they could be filled by domestic work force but we're simply not prepared to vote for politicians that prioritise higher funding of these sectors.

                2. Looking carefully at the reports I linked you to, it looks on balance that the majority of migrants, most notably in the mid to higher skills sectors bring in a positive surplus when migrated to domestic work force (who are going through schools and colleges before contributing to the economy. And obviously the contributions through skills, taxes and spending goes towards the economy including funding health sectors.

That's not too deny that lower skills and historic migrants that have fallen on benefits (or only ever known benefits) aren't a drain. Of course they are. But on balance, economy wise, the positive contributions (in my opinion, seeing as we are not willing to fund domestic upscaling to meet these essential services) outweigh the negatives.

I donÂ’t know if itÂ’s a God send. I donÂ’t know whether the massive increase in population is effectively covered by the migrant workers coming to work in the health care sector. Also add onto that the additional costs related interpreters. ThatÂ’s why I would like to see a study.

It's not a godsend. It's utter bollox. This narrative needs to change.

Excuses and more excuses. People need to take responsibility and look after and provide basic care to their own elderly relatives. We don't need the world and their families to provide it. Time we sorted out our own house and got tough with the shirkers. After all, it's clear the majority of the electorate don't want mass immigration. If you don't want it and you're currently taking the pi$$, get off your arse and do the dirty jobs yourself.

We're heading for trouble. The main parties are truly done for and now it's a free for all for more extreme movements to gain power.

The more gullible seem to be the people who call everyone else gullible. Figure that out.

                      1. You seem to be assuming that too many people don't care about their parents and just consign them into the care system. It would be stupid to say that everyone takes full responsibility for their parent's care as they get older, but I would say that the vast majority of people, loving their parents as they will do, will do everything in their power to keep them as comfortable and happy as they can be in their old age.

                      2. Despite that, most people simply can't take on full care of their parents as they get older. Most people are paying mortgages and rent until they near retirement themselves. Where do they get the time or be able to afford to provide full time care?

Although yes, it does seem pretty rich for people to moan about immigration but then rely on immigrants to care for their family and themselves.
