Mcwilliams has never shown us a good game on the right side, why would we start a CM in a RWB role when he can't defend?

Hall is a natural right back, but you want to play him as a midfielder? He's too lightweight and far better out wide as he can run.

Clarke was absolutely bobbar last night and proved he's miles away from league 1 quality, genuinely might never play at this level.

Mcguckin had 1 good header, a shot that went to Wigan and not much else. Why would he start?

Every day that passes the more I am convinced you're on the windup

I'm not switch Hall then to right wing back. McWilliams centre midfield rest same. Gore for Clarke then but have him on the bench. McGuckin up front though before Hugill if Sherif isn't fit.

    Dawson

    Rafferty T Holmes Baptist

    Hall Gore McWilliams Powell James

    McGuckin Etete

Last night was how it goes when we run out of ideas on the pitch and it is mainly down to the experienced players.
Raffety passes to jules to raffety to jules to Kelly to raffety to James to Powell to raffety to Kelly to jules to Powell to raffety to Kelly to James to raffety to Kelly to **** me I am bored!

The only time we looked dangerous was when someone looked to run at their defence.

Those experienced players are left by the opposition to tap it about all match and even when Bolton last night only had 10 men they were comfortable because we were too deep. They chased and closed us down any time we went to pass it forward.

When Baptist ran at them in the second half I thought he did well.
Richardson excellent when he opened up, young lad on the right was the same as was Holmes to some degree.
The forruds got in decent position but the tip tap bollox was so slow Bolton were not under pressure from it.

The two great crosses that hugill missed were done at speed.

Speed was be one of the things that was missing last night. Especially from Kelly who often chose the wrong pass and Powell!

I think that we have two halves of a team. An energetic one in the younger new signings and an older deliberate one from the experienced players.
The only play that has been able to link them imo is McWilliams.

IÂ’d like to be able to agree with your optimism but laid bare, we were awful. Bolton were made up of a team of their fringe players and were down to 10 men and we didnÂ’t trouble them - at all. Yes, we also had made changes but IÂ’m staggered with the lack of structure and tactics we have.

I was lead to believe that MH was a respected coach. Maybe he is but thatÂ’s not being translated onto the pitch. As I said last night, he needs to get a grip very soon. A home defeat on Saturday could well set the wheels in motion for a very early departure. Would that be ideal - absolutely not because we would end up with another TS trawl of the bottom to find a replacement but, it may well be the only option if we start to sink. Transition does not mean relegation.

Neither does it mean 8/9 weeks.

I understand transition in this context to mean most, if not all, of the first season.

I am not commenting on the duration of the transition. Indeed that could last 2 or 3 season. My point was it cannot be used as an excuse for underperformance. The budget MH has received has been reduce but it surely is not that of a side who should be battling relegation. ThatÂ’s on him. And if he canÂ’t steer us into a position of safety rather soon then as far as I am concerned he is under threat. Our current form is relegation form. Transition or not - that ainÂ’t good enough.

I understand what you are saying. I think we have improved week on week in different parts of our play. I do agree that the results are not good enough. I would also say that we were lucky to win our first game.

What will be a good enough turn around for you to think that MH has turned us round? Personally I don?t think he has yet but I am willing to give him a season.

What would be your successful points tally needed after say the next 10 matches for you to say he is turning it around?

I say this because you need to put down your expectations. If they are too high for him to achieve then there isn?t any point in a discussion with you.

                13 or 14 points.
11th and 12th had 61 points last season that should be our minimum target being we were 13th last year. 10 games is 21.7% of the season so using that 13 or 14 points would have us on target for a slight improvement on last year. Not that ambitious for our centenary year!!
11 points is around 50 points if extrapolated out and that should leave us as a L1 team next season.

I was going to say about 15/16 points. If by the end of the next 10 games we have got a total of 20 points then we should be relatively ok. Its not anywhere near promotion or the playoffs but it will keep us relatively safe. But at present, that seems very unlikely.

So, i will throw in another measure because in my opinion, it would be highly dangerous to sign-off another 10 games without a checkpoint. So, we have 4 games this month. I would be very worried therefore if we dont have a total of 10/11 points by the end of September. So that is 6/7 points from the next 4 games.

Ok, you?re wanting 2 wins at worse. That is fair.

And do you think thats realistic? Look at those fixtures and out current form? I'll give you my prediction:

                        (H) Exeter - 1 point
                        (A) Wimbledon - 0 points
                        (H) Stockport - 0 points
                        (A) Mansfield - 1 point

Keeping McGuckin on last night was when MH got it at last right hasn't often this season. There's a player there.

Time for a ban mod. This clown is using every thread to pump Mcguckin.

He?s been banned before for doing the same thing. He then went over to Millers Banter and did exactly the same thing and was banned from there as well. He was then let back on here to do the same thing 🤷*♂️
