If he was someone who debated rather than hated then he is a grievous loss.

But he supported a man who habitually led his supporters in a chant calling for his political opponents to be locked up...

He was bright, honest, principled and tolerant.
Of course the left won?t have heard of him he?s alien to them.

I lived over there for 26+ years Frog and have never heard of him, so when the news headlines of his death popped up on feeds yesterday I simply skipped over it as insignificant.

Obviously having seen more details today and the nature of events it was much more significant. RIP.

He will be a great loss to democracy. A shining light on how to behave although he had his moments earlier in his career.
He left high school and skipped university but he was very well read.
He had a way of connecting with the kids as long as they were not too far to the left.
One thing that I did not agree with was his views on pro life.

I'd never heard of him until I saw the video last night.

I have clearly have made a mistake in thinking that Charlie Kirk was better known than he was especially Kerr.

He was one of the most influential people during the American election and has been one of the wisest voice during the problems in the Middle East, the trans gender issues and many more issues.

Bunch of feckin hypocrites on here. If it had been a left wing figure rather than a right wing nutter the usual right wing idiots on here wouldn't have batted an eye lid and as usual lead by a moderator. Disgraceful.

It's tragic for his friends and family I'm sure. As for him, yes he said what he liked, including an awful lot of hateful and damaging stuff.

Said blacks were better off under segregation because they commited less crimes
Promoted anti vax nonsense (could have cost a lot more lives than his)
Promoted the stolen election lie (so not that honest, just self serving or a lap dog for trumpalumpa)
And brilliantly said it was worth a few gun deaths a year to have the right to carry one. Presumably if he'd been armed he'd be ok now because that's the justification right?

All in all, guy was a bit of a muppet but you can't be killing someone for being a rabblerousing self publicist. I did like the fact he met people but he said some horrendous things and maybe he could have done a lot more for regular people.

                        That's my t'penneth anyway.

Must say this thread is bit of shock,no one deserves to be murdered , well almost no one,I'd never heard of him either, but he did sound like another right wing tit,of which America has many.
The abuse of the likes of Roly is the real shocking thing, think the mods need to look at this, especially as one of them started this thread.

I saw the horrible unfolding events on the TV. I had not heard of him before but my daughter said she knew of him.
The best outcome / hope is that it’s only the actions of just one bad individual who needs isolating from society.
I don’t think it’s hypocritical to spare a moment of thought for the wife and children and the wider family of the man.
                              RIP.
                              Ich bin ein miller.

Yet he thought it was ok Trump got shot
He thought it was ok that Farage was attacked.
He’s imo everything that’s wrong with the society nowadays
Nobody should be attacked because of their beliefs.
I would say the same if it was Starmer etc.
he’s happy to dish out his rhetoric but can’t take it back. I stand by my comments.
