Positive results in trials this season prompted the International Football Association Board (IFAB) to change the law for the start of the 2025-26 season, replacing the current law where goalkeepers are supposed to concede an indirect free-kick if they hold on for more than six seconds

Your not given corners. Just book keeper if he does it again send him off.

If I've read it right says if a keeper breaks the new rules a corner is given to the opposition. Taking it too far. There's other areas of a game were there's time wasting.

It's a start though. And imo is the biggest one. They have already started with throwing where several balls are located around the pitch.
A common one starting to come into the game is. a goalkeeper takes a goal kick then sits down. Players then make the ref aware who stops play.
Keeper gets treatment for about 1 minute, usually on his wrist/shoulder before play continues.
              Keeper is always fine.
Teams know the game won't restart without a keeper

It needs addressing though. I've often glanced at the time when we're chasing a game and seen 40-50 seconds idle by as the keeper messes about with a slow goal kick or 30 seconds to stroll around holding the ball before playing out. It's not the only issue but it's a repeat problem and can slow a decent game right down for fans.

Not sure if goal kicks and offside/free kicks are part of this rule.

I don't have a problem with anything aimed at speeding the game up or reducing time wasting but I don't understand why they don't simply have a clock that stops for everything the referee is supposed to add extra time for, much like what happens in rugby.

No, I believe it's just the casual holding/strolling for now. Both are a problem.

Anyone notice Dawson nearly got caught out with this new law first half?

Ref clearly held his hand up show 5 down to 1 with his hand and got to two before Dawson hastily launched it. He then had the nerve to shout towards the bench waving his arms about like no one had reminded him from the bench what the Ref was doing and why?

                          Doh!

In the women’s Euro I counted to 11 and I wasn’t using Brin’s abacus! I did check they are supposed to be using the new rule.

TBF brins abacus would have worked if it hadn't been in brins hands..
