Can anybody explain to me why this Labour government chose to release the alteration to the sugar tax a day before the budget is supposed to be delivered. This, plus other information divulged. I just do not get it.

It’s because they are clueless, political ineptitude.Originally posted by Leicesterbaggie View PostCan anybody explain to me why this Labour government chose to release the alteration to the sugar tax a day before the budget is supposed to be delivered. It's because they think this is going to win over some of the nation.. when badenough questions Scammer tomorrow about the tax increase, he'll answer back by saying they trying to cut the number of fat f luckers. Seriously though, what planet are these loons on - of all the things to focus on, or release a snippet of info on this seemed bizzare earlier.

Except when the whole budget gets leaked before your Chancellor has even begun to speak.Originally posted by WBA123 View PostI'm pretty sure this is a tactic all parties do. A popular part of the budget is typically always 'leaked' early.
Our political situation is beyond broken. We need a revolution, put all of the major parties in the bin and start again.
What a circus over there.
Well, vote for clowns get a circus....

Yes, your right 123 we need to start again. The problem is the state of our politics at the moment is very fertile ground for those extremists, populists, and malevolent external propagandists who don’t have our best interests at heart.
We need a new proper centralist party not enslaved by left right ideologies.
Problem is us hairless apes are basically territorial, violent and selfish at the core.

A typical labour budget increasing welfare payments and hitting those who work hard. Less incentive to work with the huge amount of benefits thrown around and in some houses making the third plus child will start tonight!
Well in my company we won?t be increasing our payroll so a staff member will be sacrificed as will be the case in many businesses.
Leaked budget? No surprise there with this bunch of clowns 🤡

Just how delusion is this labour government? Ive seen some statements out that theyve given the under 21s a pay rise. FFS.. who do they think is actually paying for it?Originally posted by baggieal View PostA typical labour budget increasing welfare payments and hitting those who work hard. Also, they claim that theyll benefit that age group.. jeez id like to think most of these in this age group live at home and not paying rent. They dont buy their own food - did they really need that tiny extra? It comes across as desperation maybe, because they feel they are losing younger voters they needed to do something.. fact is they are losing every age group. Id say theyve lost the plot, but i dont think they ever had any sense in the first place.

How Labour can claim to be the defender of the working class is beyond me. The last group that they are looking after are those who work hard for a living. The group they protect are those whose lives are funded by the rest of us. What this government should be doing is sorting out the feckless who claim benefits that they are not entitled to. These individuals have it off to a fine art, sadly at the expense of those who are really deserving. Living off benefits is far too easily achieved in this country and this present government is aiding and abetting this.

In the modern world of 24 hour markets and news, a single day budget is outdated. To have it 'approved' by the OBR first just adds to the straightjacket modern governments have to deal with. This is why we have so many leaks, to test how people will react, before the fact. The OBR was an EU construct, foisted on all members, after Greece and other southern European countries lied about the health of their finances. We are no longer in the EU, so in my opinion, this quango needs to go.
