In the modern world of 24 hour markets and news, a single day budget is outdated. To have it 'approved' by the OBR first just adds to the straitjacket modern governments have to deal with. This is why we have so many leaks, to test how people will react, before the fact. The OBR was an EU construct, foisted on all members, after Greece and other southern European countries lied about the health of their finances. We are no longer in the EU, so in my opinion, this quango needs to go.

It’s not the only quango that needs to be scrapped, there are far too many of them, filled with vastly overpaid people delivering diddly squat.

We got Starmer, America got Trump. Both voted for by the majority of the population. Two nations, same end. Not what either would have wanted in reality.

That said, the choices are pretty dire to be fair.
