He has got to use the bench. Its just unfortunate that the bench we have is sh*t.

If you sack him the bench is still sh*t. We bossed that game start to finish and the performance was superb. You cant fault the manager for that.
I'm seeing some defence of Mason after last night from various people on here and social media, however I have already made my mind up a few weeks ago about him.

    It is time to go.

10 away defeats in a row isn't unlucky or coincidence. Its not unlucky that we've let in 15 goals from our last 20 shots on target faced - as Mason said himself in last nights interview.

He's played an inferior goalkeeper for the last 7 games, a change he didn't need to make - no fans were asking for that.

His in game substitutions and game management are bizarre - I've seen us during a game been behind by a couple of goals recently and him having 2 strikers on the bench and not bringing one on until injury time. I don't see any urgency from the team, or risk to get back into a game when we go behind. I see him making nonsense changes in closing minutes of games (mepham 92nd minute at Charlton, Dike in injury time a couple of times). I've seen him put 2 GK's on the bench. I've seen him not use any of our academy players (Can they be worse than what we are watching?) and I've recently read he's putting Bielik on the bench despite him being injured for 'morale'.

I've seen us give absolutely rubbish goals away, giving the ball away on the edge of our area away at Ipswich, Southampton and QPR from memory...there might be more. This has to comes from the managers instructions. We have given more goals away because of errors than any other side.

I understand he's young, will make mistakes and has poor strength in depth in the squad, but I just can't get past his decision making and in game management. We've barely seen Bielik all season, but from what I have seen he seems to me to be our best defender. Price is a good box to box midfielder, but has been played too far forward all season in my view. Mikey Johnston is our biggest threat, yet I've seen him be dropped in some matches this season or shunted into a central area for inferior players.

Are any players actually better now than when he came through the door? Have any improved? I can't think of any.

The style of football is poor and although I wasn't expecting much this season, I know this squad is better than 18th and a potential relegation fight.

But what I'm most fed up of is playing teams who I think are terrible such as Hull, Leicester, Charlton and losing to them. Its a really good job this league is so poor. Mason hasn't shown me enough to give any faith he's the man for the job long term.

The result last night was a real sickener, I feel for the players and the manager not coming away with a draw (I didn't see the match).
Some of the other results however have simply been due to not being able to put the ball in the back of the net.
We have now lost 10 away games in a row, unbelievable, not even a draw.

Swansea next in the FA cup which would be great to obtain a win but won't change the league position.
I can't see this squad suddenly winning games home or away.
We will not climb the table and will be reliant on teams below us being worse than us.
I really don't know what the answer is.

Best post of the thread with a good reasoning behind it. Stupidly my son went to the match last night and was against sacking him a few games ok but his points are exactly what you have communicated. Those spending the money are sick of Mason now and proof of the pudding is support is dwindling fast. I asked my son if he was going to Derby and the answer was - not if Mason is still there and that seems to be the case with his mates too who go to almost all the away games. Can you blame them?

The ones who spend the money ( not me lately ) are getting in the - get Mason out camp in big numbers now. Proof of the pudding is tickets not selling for the likes of Leicester up the road.
