Ramsay? No point in that, might as well as kept Mason.

Well, is Patel didn't know....he knows now, that this business hemorrhages money in compensation payouts to managers who get sacked before their contracts have expired. Mason's contract pay up will have, I dare say eaten in to our very small transfer budget. Our third in twelve months...

Yep, the rumour is across a range of news outlets now, though not confirmed by the club yet.Originally posted by kettering_baggie View PostReports on Facebook that the deal is done; Ramsay! If true, I am underwhelmed.
Ramsay-from what I understand-was on Nestor's previous list that eventually saw Mason being appointed as he apparently fitted his game model requirements so I assume the club had already been tracking him again prior to their decision to dismiss RM, hence the rather speedy interview.
I get that Ramsay is likely a hungry young manager and, also, that he has more actual management experience than Ryan Mason had as well as proven that he can achieve results with limited funding but-and it is a big but-the MLS league is nowhere near as tough as the Championship. I didn't want an "old school" older manager, but I would have much preferred one that at least had some proven success in this league or else a more comparable one. Doubtless, finances and affordability factor into this too however as the club will obviously still have to fork out for Mason's severance pay.
If it is Ramsay, I'm rather underwhelmed myself Ketts and just hope that the club have not just repeated their previous mistake in appointing Mason by basing their decision largely on the fact that Ramsay fits Nestor's model.
We shall see. Having turned in some decent performances, this set of players are capable of achieving more in terms of results. Mason went, not only because of the run of poor results but because there was very little faith that he could get us out of this rut, stop this downward spiral and turn things around. Maybe a new broom in itself will help create that reset and spark needed to push us back up the table?

Good positivity Omeg buddy. Pretty well as I see it. Undoubtedly Ramsay, if confirmed, is as a result of his fitting the Nestor model.
Let’s hope it works this time, with some refinements to Mason’s interpretation of the model ?! I would have preferred Carsley, but maybe that is water under the bridge.
Whoever it is will get my support, but I hope he has the confidence to trust his own judgement.

I liked the look of Carsley too Prando. At 51, he probably didn't meet Nestor's age- band profile but no arguing with his successes with the U21s and I think he might have been good for us. He may also have been inclined to give our more promising younger players a few opportunities. Still, I suppose he was a long shot anyway and maybe he is also biding his time for his chance of a crack at the Big job at England?Originally posted by Prando View PostGood positivity Omeg buddy. Mason now Ramsay?
I never thought Mason was the answer - no experience of the Championship and as it turned out no management skills in selection or tactics . Now Ramsay - no experience of the championship noquality contacts for loans coz that's all we can get now having blown our cash on Mson outOriginally posted by Omegstrat6 View Post😂 Like the pun Prando-very good!
But I do now think that the Nestor model is the root cause - it may be great on paper bur truth is we have to play on grass. I don't think that any manager or head coach can thrive under this overarching Nestor plan .
Would have preferred someone who is savvy about the championship and brave enough to be his own man - he may as well be as you get sacked if results don't deliver. So before the ink is dry here's my take Ramsay is not the answer - more money wasted . Did we not look at a dynamic young manager leading a team in the lower division - who might thast be - I don't know but our wall to wall analysts should

I agree, Nestor seems rigid in his thinking, what we needed was a 2026 version of Sir Gary, hope I?m wrong but can?t see Ramsey lasting too long, been better of with Sir AlfOriginally posted by bordering View PostI never thought Mason was the answer - no experience of the Championship and as it turned out no management skills in selection or tactics . Nothing confirmed on the club website yet Leics which they (rightly) won't do until it's all gone through but just based on what is being reported in the press. Might all be speculation of course but it's been reported that the board has met with Ramsay and terms have been agreed so guess it is quite likely that we are now just awaiting final completion of the appointment?Originally posted by Leicesterbaggie View PostWe are all assuming that he has got the job. Unless I have missed something, I have not heard anything official yet.
