I'm no Maynard fan but that's a little unfair, it was a gross error on the brothers part IMHO and his inexperience was brutally, exposed.

Gross error? The guy was a handful of points away from automatic promotion. We've had gross errors in appointments in the past, this wasn't one of them and I'm sure the Bros as are many of us disappointed that he didn't grow in experience in his time here. Gross and brutally; easy to say in hindsight. Fine margins between failure and success and with changes during the season there were shifting sands. The Bros have made the right decision now they have 18 months of data and facts.
Yes except Maynard kept referring to "The management team" not "the coaching staff" especially whilst Saunders & Co were still around. It grated with me and I posted as much at the time and it smacked of him wanting to be a manager. In the end he disappointed as a coach and possibly lost confidence with himself.
Absolute rubbish Durham, we have other threads basically saying only 4 or 5 players were consistently good all season. He was slow on subs to the eye but if I was him and looked around at our bench for the majority of the season I wouldn?t have been in a rush to bring them on. I didn?t not agree with many selections as basically 8 or 9 were fairly obvious the rest were like county bingo.
The DOF and owners recruited for 352, so he had no choice.
That said my gut feel is he isn?t to the level yet but he?s a way off useless.
How do you work that out ? They gave him an opportunity to make a name for himself, but the job proved too much. As regards the January window and the fact the two coaches weren't replaced. This was because the Bros already new at that time that it wasnt worth spending large amounts of money on recruiting new coaches and players with this guy at the helm, so decided to leave it until the season was over.
