It was Hamilton Hall they both went for (the big red building overlooking the 18th green) not the Old Course Hotel. Trump at that time couldn't get finance for it. Kohler own both of them now. They also own The Dukes Golf Course next to Fedidnch where Ogren is now a part of.Quote:

It may well be one course too far, who knows. Like I said, St. Andrews will always have golfing visitors so it has a chance but there are a lot of courses close by and St. Andrews will always be the pinnacle regardless of what's nearby.Quote:

They blamed it on the weather and the ill health of the project manager but if you're building a golf course in Scotland, you know fine well what the weather is like so that's bulll****. 😂 The guys were locals and not golf course developers so it probably became too big a project for them. It was first planned in 2004 so it was on the go for a long long time. They took years to make a start and it felt to me like it was doomed to fail long before it did.
